Barack Obama's New World Order (Time mag - Behold the 're-branding' of America)
Time on Yahoo ^ | 4/3/09 | Michael Scherer

The United States is still the same country it was a year ago, give or take about 6 million jobs. But its international branding campaign, as led by the new President, Barack Obama, is so different that the rest of the world might be forgiven if it has to do a double take.

Most of the hallmarks of the foreign policy of George W. Bush are gone. The old conservative idea of "American exceptionalism," which placed the U.S. on a plane above the rest of the world as a unique beacon of democracy and financial might, has been rejected. At almost every stop, Obama has made clear that the U.S. is but one actor in a global community. Talk of American economic supremacy has been replaced by a call from Obama for more growth in developing countries. Claims of American military supremacy have been replaced with heavy emphasis on cooperation and diplomatic hard labor.

He is looking to build a collective vision, not to impose an American one.But if you call him a "Collectivist" he'll deny it.

I'm really about to puke. If we are not able to see our country as the beacon and envy of the world then we have no patriots left to even try to save the country.

Does this guy really hate America or his he just filled with so much liberal thought from his mother, Reverend Wright, Bill Ayres, and all those Harvard and Columbia professors, that he can’t see that the world needs us to be a superpower?

...a call from Obama for more growth in developing countries.

Won't that screw up Algore's "planet?" More "CO2" to melt the ice and kill the polar bears and spotted owls?

Obama is currently bringing economic policies to the U.S. that the countries that are currently third are using.

At a town hall in Strasbourg, France, Obama stood before an audience of mostly French and German youth and admitted that the U.S. should have a greater respect for Europe. "In America, there's a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world," he said before offering other European critical views of his country. "There have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive."

So why does the left-wing media go apaplectic when Americans dare to criticize Pres--ent Ogabe in America but he can go overseas and criticize America and the press applauds him?

So instead of giving away our tax dollars to help sustain other countries I assume that those tax dollars will go back into my pocket now that other countries will be picking up the slack?

Sounds like a plan.

That’s what I’m afraid of. But you’d think if he was going to spend his week in Europe sucking up to these people, he could at least get some nice gifts for them.

Speaking of that, perhaps he could give the next dignitary the First Season DVD collection of “Flava of Love”.

It’s as though we have been invaded and reduced to slaves... without a single shot being fired.

I wonder how I will explain all this to my grandchildren. I wonder if they will ever forgive us.
