To me, a Tea Party has to do something that at least breaches the peace and destroys property.

I'm not trying to be negative, but maybe it would be more productive to have a smaller number of LARGE protests, rather than a bunch of smaller protests?

I know that it's a bit of a drive, as I make similar ones on a regular basis. But maybe a "road trip" to D/FW or Austin to join one of those protests would be a better use of your time?

Hi. I was just in Brownwood for my uncle’s funeral. I hope your event is a big success. There are no better people than west-central Texas folks. Good luck!

Good point. Here in Colorado, a LOT of people are driving to Denver and Colorado Springs for the Tea Parties.

Huge crowds are more effective.

I've lost track, but I think there are at least 3 different ones planned for the D/FW area alone. I wish I could attend one, but I'll be traveling that week.

I admire the efforts of the people that are planning these. But, I wonder if it would be more effective if they were to pool their resources for one big one.

Is there a list of Texas Tea Parties available so that we would know which one is nearest? That would be very helpful in boosting attendance.

I must disagree. There is a distinct difference between the culture of The Heart of Texas and the cities you suggest. This is for our proud local folk in this area. We are not accustoms to being a part of the masses of Larry King. On top of this rational I must add that by holding local events we will not create one of those dreaded large Feet Prints

Big things start there in Brownwood. Gordon Wood for one. Good luck to you all there. I have decided to forgive Brownwood and the officials for allowing Shae Southall to crawl across the goal line after the whistle blew and call it a touchdown in the 1970 district championship. I saw it first hand as I was the middle linebacker the officials pulled off him before calling it. It all worked out...Brownwood won the state championship and it forced me to go to college on my brain instead of football.

Cool, another Tea Party that will have NO impact on Obamis' totalitarian ideals. While I admire your concern, you would do much better in building a State coalition to fight the Obami totalitarianism he is working towards. Street protests do NOTHING. Been there, done that. Build a movement to kill our unConstitutional principles that are being destroyed by the day.

That means the tough choices, not a bunch of feel good demonstrations on some street corner, which I've done.
