I know that this was posted yesterday as well as Friday, but it needs to be posted again. There was some concern about this being too good to be true. I was skeptical too I called the NRA and they assured me that the link that was coming up was the "Join the NRA" link, so I went ahead and re-upped my membership for 5 yrs and signed my son up to a Life Membership. My credit card was billed by the NRA and I'm absolutely confident that it's legit.

This is a good deal. Regular Lifetime Memberships are $1000 now. Through this deal it's half off. (This was the only glitch I found. The regular site still lists Lifetime memberships at $1K, the bonus site has the $500 discount. If you're interested, I'd get signed up at the discount site pronto[mexican lingo] in case the NRA isn't aware of this. I sent the link to my wife at work and she and about 15 of her coworkers signed up-some for the extended paid memberships.

This is a great opportunity to join a group that actually does something about protecting our rights and not just talk about it. Even if you don't own a gun, you can join the NRA and make a statement that you support groups that are trying to defend you against the theft of your rights. If the libs/commies/socialist anti-Americans that are in charge of this country right now can take this right away from you, there's nothing stopping them from taking the rest of them.

It's free. Join!

And this was just announced on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk.

Why is the NRA doing this? Simple: Numbers. When an NRA lobbyist talks to a congresscritter, they carry a whole lot weight when they're backed up by millions of members.

Yeah, I can't argue with that, and I'm also a GOA member. The NRA is still the most effective political org on our side. Spam be damned.

Can someone tell me in 2 to 3 sentences why gun owners need to fear Obama? I have many gun owning clients, and I didn’t understand the “shell cassings” thing.

I generally just deal with them through the mail. They junk mail a bit...but they do a lot of good.

there is the micro stamping when a gun is fired to determine what gun the bullet came out of.

Yes, I agree. That's why I'm a member. I was very disappointed at their last mailing tho. The GOA was still making a big deal of HR 45, which was a red herring. The GOA does not have the political clout that the NRA does. I was very mad at the NRA last election for endorsing the libtard, and I still think it'll come to bite us all in the arse, but, well, the NRA is still the biggest dog with the biggest bark and the biggest bite.

Consider his voting record as an Illinois senator. Consider his associations with Marxist radicals. Consider his choice for Attorney General. I could go on...

Never owned a gun in my life (although much more of this administration and I’ll have to start pricing them), but I’ve been a member of the NRA since the ‘80’s.

When it comes to defending the Bill of Rights (at least one key part of it), they’re as good as you get. That’s worth my support.

And I don’t get any spam from them (although so far as I know they don’t have my email address). Junk mail from them has been minimal as well.

The NRA endorsed the LOCAL libtard (WI 8th CD, Kagen).
