A file NASA image shows Saharan dust streaming off the coast of northwest Africa and sweeping out over the Atlantic Ocean. A decrease in airborne dust and volcanic emissions has contributed to warming the North Atlantic Ocean in the past three decades, a study showed. (AFP/NASA/File)
Better put that new dust tax into affect.
But, but, but.. I thought global warming was caused by SUV’s and fat kids...
So I guess Hussein will now demand all MLB players slide into first?
So since dust now decreases global warming, can we get dust credits? If I drive an SUV, but spend a certain amount of time on dirt roads, does that offset my carbon emmisions? What’s the trade ratio? Does this mean we can tax dry states like Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas for their excess dust credits, sell those credits back to the Fed, and pay off the deficit?

Erm... We've been cooling since 1998.
He said airborne particles producing warmer temperatures *can* also help cause hurricanes, which thrive on warm water.
"Can" doesn't mean "does". Number of hurricanes have been down for the last three decades and 6 out of the last seven; and trending down since the 1900's:

The only thing 'up' is the damage done and not because of the 'strength' of the storms but because the US (and the world in general) is (was) so much wealthier, and in the US, more recently, "wealthier" because we haven't instituted the Kyoto or Kyoto-like protocols for global warming.
Mankind needs to increase its production of particulates in the atmosphere to compensate for the natural shortfall. I suggest burning lots of high-sulfur coal.
