LONDON [MENL] -- Iran has been developing an air defense network that could defend against a U.S. attack, a report said.
A report by a leading defense researcher said Iran was assembling a Russian-origin air defense umbrella that could defeat attacks by the most modern Western aircraft.
The report, "Surviving the Modern Integrated Air defence System," said Iran has employed IADS technology that could cause huge losses in any U.S. air campaign.

LOL ... keep believing it.
There,I fixed it
So could Syria’s, as I recall.
Like the vaunted Syrian air defense system?
It would work well if we just sent in a bunch of F-15s without any supporting aircraft. We don’t do that.
Radar suppression, anti-radiation missiles, AWACs, integrated data links. It isn’t WWII.
If this is true, it’s a good reason for the F-22 which the President wants to cancel
A good reason to build more F-22s.
So, we send in the B2s, F-117s and F22s first, then send in the F-15s and F-16s and F-18s and the Super Hornets.
Problem solved....
....oh and carpet bomb with B52s and B-1Bs too....
.....and don’t forget the F-111s
wow you can defend against a platform thats been around since 72. Just like the Iraqi GPS scramblers. They activate them and we know just where to send the bombs.
Is Baghdad Bob living in Iran now doing the Press releases?
It sounds like Iran is buying more targets for first strike ambitions. Now we may have to use a few more peices of ordinance.
BTW - F-15s would not be the first strike platform. We have far more stealthy platforms to attack the air defense equipment of the enemy.
F-15s, F-18s would likely follow the F-22s, B-117s and B-2s along with the cruise missles. Air traffic control could be a problem. We don’t want our guys flying into one another as they crowd Iranian air space.
Who said we’d use F-15s?
Iran is concerned over the failure of Syria's air defense systems to detect the Israel Air Force non-stealth aircraft that reportedly carried out an attack inside Syria last month, the American weekly Aviation Week reported. According to the report, Israel was able to disrupt Syria's radar and air defense systems and render them ineffective during the IAF strike. The weekly maintained that Iran is especially concerned over the failure of Syria's Russian-made radar systems. Iran has used similar systems in the past, and is slated to purchase more radar equipment in a future deal worth $750 million. This equipment is apparently designated to protect Iran's nuclear facilities against attacks from the air.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is the mainstay of the IAF.
Someone told me the other day that all the B-52’s have been retired.. anyone know if this is true ???
Not the F-117's bub. they've all been scrapped.
Note to self.. Google is your friend.....
70+ Buff’s still inservice and predicted to stay so there till 2040
Not true. The 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB, ND and 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale AFB, LA still fly them. The 28th at Ellsworth AFB, SD and the 7th at Dyess AFB, TX fly the B-1B. The 509th at Whiteman AFB, MO flies the B-2.
The article’s premise is true ONLY if it were operated by COMPETANT officers and men, however. That leaves Iran OUT.
