CNN reports the Air Force has said a C-17 aircraft has crashed in southern Archer County. The network said the plane was carrying military personnel. Mike McKito, a Sheppard Air Force Base spokesman, said Sheppard had not been notified of any crash. C-17s are not stationed at Sheppard. A large number of emergency vehicles have converged on a rural area near the Archer-Young County line searching for a possible crash site. Early reports indicated a commercial aircraft might have crashed. However,, as of 12:35 p.m. no confirmation of a crash had been made from the site being seached.
