LA Times: Protesters press Obama on immigration
LA Times ^ | March 19, 2009 | Seema Mehta

Posted on 03/19/2009 11:07:09 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

As ticket-holders waited patiently in line to gain entry to the gymnasium at Miguel Contreras Learning Center near downtown L.A. this morning, two groups protested for legalization of undocumented immigrants.

Kevin Prada, 12, attended a protest by the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles and spoke about his life since his father was deported in 2007.

"I am an American citizen, but right now I don't feel like one. I feel like I am an alien from a different world," he said. Prada's father immigrated from Peru in the 1990s and was denied political asylum. [snip]

"I haven't hugged them, I haven't kissed them, it's not right," said Marquez, a member of the Service Employees International Union. "I'm here to tell the president not to forget about us. We're anxiously waiting for immigration reform."

Two groups chanted at two street corners, playing mariachi music and waving signs that read, "Obama, count on us," and "Legalizacion! Ahora!" [snip]

LA Times: Protesters press Obama on immigration

Oh.

I thought they wanted to know about his immigration status.

Vicky Marquez said she has not seen her children, who live in El Salvador, in 13 years.

Hey, Vicky there are flight so San Salvador leaving LAX every day. What's holding you back? Could it be money? So you love money more than your own children?

And if any Americans had shown up to protest Obamas left turn to socialism would the L.A. Slimes have reported that?

My first thought, too.

Anyone have a link to info on the Orange County visit yesterday? Thanks in advance.

You know, I do feel sorry for these people who think that the USofA will be a better place to live. But if they are SERIOUS, then they’ll go through the proper channels and get a green card and come here legally.

Maybe it does take years and years, but then when you’re here, the gangs can’t blackmail you, you don’t have to lie to find a job or rent a place to live or buy a car, auto insurance, get a mortgage, etc.

Live by the rules and you’re not worried someone will ‘out’ you as an illegal and cause grief to you and your family.

ALSO, the US Citizen children to NOT have to stay in the USofA. They can return with their parents and at the age of 21 can decide if they want to be US Citizen or Citizen of their parent’s Country.

When we deport we need to deport the entire family and not just the wage earners. The KIDS do not have to stay in the USofA. Children born in the USofA of illegal aliens are children first and US Citizens second.

Was Hussein here yesterday?

“Anyone have a link to info on the Orange County visit yesterday?”

No link because we didn't care & the OC Register didn't cover it...after Chief Justice Roberts gets through examining the eligibility challenges filed against Hussein, his “gig” will soon be up.

“said Marquez, a member of the Service Employees International Union”

I guess they bussed in “protestors” again.

I thought the LA Times didn’t cover protests. Or is that rule only for tax party protests.

Prada's father immigrated from Peru in the 1990s and was denied political asylum.

This is confusing...if he "immigrated" why does it matter whether or not he was denied political asylum unless this means he physically "immigrated" and not legally "immigrated."

I hope you’re right about Hussein’s “gig” being up soon, Kelly. Chief Justice Roberts may be our last best hope for restoring some sanity and constitutionality in Washington DC.

Best to you and yours. Fingers crossed for justice to prevail.

Oh, I'm not that concerned...

Sooner or later, SOMEONE will “acquire” Hussein's Birth Certificate and reveal to the world what a phony & fraud he is...
