I really miss Charlie’s parole hearings.
That guy could really rattle off some stream-of-consciousness masterpieces.

After so many fake “I’m reformed” ‘Dog & Pony’ shows the Parole Board gets it’s kind of refreshing to hear him tell them all their mothers and sisters are whores and follow that up with “I’ve gotta take a dump.” and leave the room.

The photo on the left is of a wild eyed fanatic. The one on the right is of a man who now fears death.

Had the Manson family committed those murders in Texas, we would have long forgotten about them.

Or not. Manson's conviction was just before the Supreme Court ban on the death penalty and all death row inmates were turned into life sentences at that time. That applied to Texas, too.

This evil POS should have been taking a dirt nap long ago. Instead we treat him like a celebrity to satisfy our sense of morbid curiosity.

And of course, the victims of this nutcase and his lunatic followers are long forgotten.

Legally speaking, if you participated in the commission of a murder, even if you didn’t pull the trigger or whatever, you are a murderer in the eyes of the law. Hitler, to my knowledge, never killed a Jew by his own hand but that doesn’t make him any less of a genocidal mass-murderer legally, ethically or morally. A doctor that shows a wreckless disregard for the health of a patient and, as a result, the patient dies, can be charged with murder.

What ever happened to capital punishment? This one EARNED it.

IIRC, he did get the death sentence at his trial but a year or so later the US Supreme Court ruled the death sentence laws then in place to be unconstitutional, so his sentence was changed to life.

I have thought about that also, there was simply no chance of the United States succumbing to a Red Revolution in the 1960’s (although in fairness it looked a bit possible at the time) however had it done so people like Manson would in fact have risen to the top very quickly and history books would have glossed over their atrocities pointing out how such “radicals” are always necessary in a revolution.

If a book was written about how the American Revolution occurred in the 1970’s, Manson and his acolytes would have been like the young students during Mao’s Cultural Revolution, sure they murdered hundreds but their hearts were in the right place, Manson himself would have been a Che Guevara type, Jim Jones of Kool-Aid fame would have been Minister of Public Safety like Robespierre and Bill Ayers would have been in charge of propaganda before being murdered in a secret purge having had his pictures air-brushed out of history meanwhile his wife Barabar Dohrn (a Manson fan) would have filled Stalin’s role.

Of course none of that ever happened so we can now safely look back on it all as a bit of harmless youthful “rebellion” right?

Hmmmm, just ask the Russians, Cubans, Poles, Czechs, Chinese, Vietnamese or Cambodians think about the harmlessness of such “radical” thinking.

Manson got a fair trial in which he was found guilty of involvement in the murders, that makes him a murderer, the law has always accepted that anyone actively involved in a murder is guilty of the murder even if they didn’t actually stick in the knife or fire the gun.

Manson is a murderer, end of story.

“Updated photos of the man so admired by Obama’s friends.”

Really. Where did you read about that?

Had a hammer and sickle been tattooed to his forehead, he’d long ago have been released and be a tenured faculty member.

Almost 40 years after he was convicted of butchering six people, a new photograph of mass murderer Charles Manson has been released.

Ironically, he wasn't even there.

I watched the show Gangland a while back. IIRC it seemed Charlie was being threatened and was once set on fire by another inmate. He sought protection from the Aryan Brotherhood. He made the “X” a swastika to show allegiance, but form what I understand the “AB” didn’t want anything to do with him.

Oh hadn’t you heard? Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn (I incorrectly referred to her as “Barbara” above) were big friends and political supporters of Obama in the early part of his political career.

Here’s what Dohrn said about the Manson murders:

“Dig it! First they killed those pigs and then they put a fork in pig Tate’s belly. Wild!”

Nice people President Obama hangs out with, eh?
