As others have pointed out, Manson never actually killed anyone. He persuaded others to do so...

The scariest thing about Manson was not the murders, but the fact that he could persuade a bunch of chic Hollywood “radicals” to perform the murders.
He is the dark side of the Countercultural Revolution. He made it evident that liberal conformity can not only persuade millions of people to turn on, tune in, and drop out, but can persuade them to kill innocents in the most brutal fashion.
And here we are, 50 million dead babies later, which just goes to show what happens if you follow the trends and fashions with complete moral blindness.
Not only are we not leaving all that behind, but with Obama in the White House it’s about to get worse again. More killing in the name of liberal conformity.
The high and tight cut looks good on him. Maybe one of those total makeover shows can get into San Quentin and get rid of the beard, remove the swastika and get him a good moisturizer.
Maybe the watery eyes are a sign that he realizes that his life has been an utter waste, and that he knows that he’ll soon be maggot food and his sould will be on the express elevator to the basement.
His “Helter Skelter” prediction just might happen.
Had the Manson family committed those murders in Texas, we would have long forgotten about them.

Your desciption put me in mind of Rachel Maddow. I wonder when he’ll get a show on MSNBC, or when Obama will pardon him—the swastika makes him a Palestinian at heart. :P
You are right. He was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder. And, because of the way the conspiracy rules work, he was convicted of the crimes that he ordered. There is no evidence he ever actually murdered anyone.
I'm not certain, but he started out as an extreme leftist. Kinda like the Nazis.
Originally he had carved an X on his forehead to symbolize that he had X’d himself out of society. He did this during his trial.
He obviously subsequently turned it into a Nazi symbol.
Also, prisioners are not supposed to have face hair.
