I never tried to sell McCain as an orthodox conservative. I did put him forth as relatively right-of-center, which he was/is.
The fact is Crist probably delivered Florida for McCain with his last minute endorsement (polls showed the Crist endorsement had significant clout among undecided GOP primary voters). Had Romney won Florida I think he would’ve been the favorite for the nomination from that point out.
Of the several posts I have made on this thread only in one (60) do I offer mild praise for Romney.
So, now that I've answered that let's go back to the point of my post 52 which you are avoiding - what do you find so difficult in posting the name "Mitt Romney"?

I hate to continue this conversation but I think this needs to be clarified. I did not “jump to Mitt.” But I do not see anyone else out there who, as both a former governer and CEO, who has any comparable economic credentials in this current mess.
