Welcome to the blogspot of the Staten Island Tax Day Tea Party. We are not affiliated with any organization; we are simply a group of AMERICAN CITIZENS who refuse to sit idly by and watch the destruction of all the values we hold so dear.
Our Congressman, Michael McMahon, has been marching in virtual lock-step with the Obama Administration on all their left-wing legislation, mouthing platitudes to Staten Islanders while essentially helping the Democrats in Congress tear down the foundations of free-market capitalism.
We ask you to join us at NOON on TAX DAY - Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 - in front of the offices of CONGRESSMAN MICHAEL McMAHON to protest his support of the radical agenda of President Obama and his cohorts, Reid and Pelosi.
Our demonstration will take place in front of 265 New Dorp Lane, at the corner of Edison Street.
Bring your signs, banners and flags. We, the citizens of Staten Island, NY, MUST make our voices heard to our representatives. A large turnout is crucial, so invite your friends and neighbors, and get there any way you can - walk, run, skate, bicycle, car pool, or use public transportation.
I know most of you have never been involved in a demonstration before. But now is the time...the time to let your Congressman know that we will not accept the destruction of our free, capitalist society, we will not accept the government's claim on the fruits of our labor, we will not accept the erosion of our liberties and we will forever defend out God-given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!
LOL, thanks! I love it. I’m posting it up on the blog right now.
This is great. However, I think you should reconsider the date or time as this is impossible for those who have to go to work.
Thank you all for your help and input.
I wrestled with the date, time and location, and made what I thought was the best decision. I recognize that most people cannot afford to take a day off from work, but hope we can get a decent turnout anyway. With enough publicity I think we will - if we can get the publicity.
I wanted to do it in step with the rest of the 4/15 demonstrations, and in the end felt that doing something during or after the dinner hour would just not have the impact as a lunchtime rally.
Keep your fingers crossed, guys. My greatest fear is having just a handful of folks show up - or worse, more counter-protestors than protestors.
my wife and i will be there to help in any way we can.... all who need our support can reach us at dstephens59 at hotmail.com
