Obama Makes Overtures for Cooperation of CEOs (compromise on taxes??)

WASHINGTON -- In his most aggressive outreach yet to the business community, President Barack Obama told some of the nation's leading CEOs that he is ready to talk about lowering corporate income-tax rates and could compromise on his plan to combat global warming.

Speaking for more than an hour Thursday to the Business Roundtable, a chief executives organization, Mr. Obama made it clear he wants the business community's cooperation to secure his agenda of expanding the federal role in education, overhauling health care and transforming the energy sector.

Pressed on his proposal to rein in the indefinite deferral of corporate taxes on overseas earnings, Mr. Obama said he would be willing to consider lowering the 35% corporate tax rate as he closes other business-tax loopholes. "That's a very appealing conversation to me, and I'd like to pursue it," the president said.

When Weyerhaeuser Co. CEO Daniel S. Fulton questioned his climate-change proposal, Mr. Obama struck a pragmatic note. Mr. Fulton said the proposal to cap carbon emissions and force companies to purchase permits for 100% of future releases would stifle innovation on conservation for energy-intensive companies like his, already struggling with costs.

The liberals want nationalized healthcare so badly that they are now going to try and blackmail CEOs to support it.

This is THE most dangerous issue we must stop or all is lost.

I don't believe it for even one second.. Like BillBoy Clinton, Obami talks to the crowd at hand. He says what they want to hear, and many of the fools actually believe him. His current and past actions say otherwise, but the morons listening to him can only seem to hear the words.

Teleprompter again. Can this man EVER talk to an audience without his speech writers? Bush annoyed me for being inarticulate and even goofy at times, but at least he didn't need a teleprompter EVERY time he spoke to a group.

Anyone who needs such cues, has no substance and really is a big ZERO.

TPO (teleprompter 0) is getting another lesson in economics 101.

Aggressive outreach = help me
compromise = help me

as Sarah Palin said
“I might add that in small towns, we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening.

We tend to prefer candidates who don’t talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.”

Got news for you, pal - all is very very close to lost, already. Our Republic is going to be just one more experiment in self-government thrown on the ash-heap of history.

Although I may complain, I also have solutions:

There are (3) ways back to our Constitutional roots:
1. Support and/or build legal organizations that have the resources and will find the standing to file suit against all these obscene laws by the Fedgov that are contrary to our US Constitution.
2. A grassroots effort to Amend our Constitution for term limits;
3. Massive civil disobedience.

We are way past little demonstrations on street corners. The only way grassroots activism can work now is by the 10's of thousands marching on DC and getting belligerent in such efforts.

Just for the poll numbers as Rush has said, there’s no reason to have confidence when stimulus bill is no stimulus

Agreed, but unfortunately, I believe we may be very close to here:

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Thomas Jefferson

Or, at least those in DC need to believe we are dangerously close.

When you hear a Democrat talk about tax cuts, it is a LIE! The $13 a week cut really is coming off your tax refund next year. The are not adjusting the tax tables. So beware you may want to file a W-4 in April to GIVE the $13 back.

The left’s top agenda items include

nationalized healthcare
energy policy
education

Once you add “food” to the list, and they pretty much have with their “food safety” bill that, in effect, outlaws private gardens,

you have TOTAL CONTROL of the populace.
