Northern Ireland tense as officials hunt for smuggled bomb

DUBLIN, Ireland – A security alert has been issued today in the Northern Ireland town of Ballykinler, the site of a British Army base.

The Real IRA was responsible for the largest bombing of the Troubles - the Omagh bombing in 1997.

They made several phone calls calling in a bomb threat, waited for the people to be evacuated and then set off the bomb in the area where all the people had been evacuated to.
