A San Francisco police union has accused former domestic terrorist William Ayers, co-founder of the Weather Underground, and his wife in a 1970 bombing that killed one sergeant, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The union, in a letter to a conservative organization lobbying for arrests in the case, accused Ayers and wife Bernardine Dohrn of bombing a city police station.

Don't police arrest criminals - I did not know they wrote letters to conservative organization if they have proof, arrest him.

What can you say? Democrats are the “big tent” party. Both the Police Union and the SDS are part of it.

Where were these people during the campaign? Probably would have been labeled “Swift Boat, the Sequel” anyway.

It’s about time. Ayers wife, or live-in girlfriend planted the bomb that killed a police officer. Enough is enough - don’t laws apply to liberals?

Humor aside, where was the then Barry Soetoro at the time of an armored car robbery in New York, for which his cousin Odinga (no not that one) was arrested?

Don't police arrest criminals - I did not know they wrote letters to conservative organization if they have proof, arrest him.

Generally, the police act politically, doing exactly as they are ordered to do.

The "law" is the cover given them as long as they follow political orders.

Occasionally, a cop may administer justice when it does not conflict with political orders. Most of the time, they administer just us.

Very rarely, a police union may point out a criminal, but only when that criminal acted directly against a cop, never when the victim is Joe Ordinary citizen.

In this case the cops want support from the people they normally ignore, a standard union trait.

None of this changes the fact that Ayres should be hanged from the nearest tree, alongside Dohrn.

I hear what you are saying but there's no statue of limitation on murder which I assume why they are pursuing but the conservative group is not the aggrieved party so would have no standing - maybe the family of the officer killed or the police itself. I guess I don't understand why they need separate support.

“Don’t police arrest criminals - I did not know they wrote letters to conservative organization if they have proof, arrest him.”

There is actually plenty of proof of Ayers’ activites. Unfortunatly when the evidence was gathered, the police gathered it imporperly and it was deemed inadmisable in court.

There is no doubt about Ayers’ guilt in any number of crimes, but he can’t be tried in court due to legal technicalities.
