Lousiana Senator David Vitter throws fit at the airport
Gadling ^ | March 11, 2009

Posted on 03/12/2009 7:53:16 AM PDT by Clintonfatigued

Louisiana Sen David Vitter missed his plane and Dulles Airport last Wednesday, and he was not amused.

Vitter, who recently gained infamy after being identified on the D.C. Madam's Phone List, found his gate closed, so he went through an armed security door. Why not? He's got that Senator's pin, after all, right? That gives you access to all areas of the airport ... right?

As you might expect, an alarm went off as he then tried to verbally rip an unsuspecting United Airlines gate attendant a new one. Apparently, he even tried to pull rank. Come on. Would that even work in his home state?

When the employee exited to find a security guard, Vitter ran away.

No mention of his political party. Would that, by default, make him a Democrat???

Excuse my ignorance of this guy. I’ve heard his name before but don’t know squat about him.

Lousiana Senator David Vitter throws fit at the airport

Since Vitter stopped visiting his special friend, he's been feeling, uh, anxious, as Beetlejuice put it...

No, he’s one of ours. And a conservative to boot. I don’t care who they are. Act like this and it’s time to get voted out of office. Assuming that the news report is accurate, of course.

Evidently, being a real pr__k is helpful in dealing with Senate democrats. If you look at some of the past year's worth of hot-button topics, Vitter has consistently been doing a good job.

Chances are, you heard his name in connection with the DC Madame Scandal. As for party, he’s unfortunately one of ours.

Quasi-RINO at the worst. Vitter supported Giuliani early in the primary season, but he was also at center stage in the fight against the Bush/Kennedy amnesty bill.

Yes, but on one of our sister company's aircraft. The dispatcher told me they had to do a full security breach checklist. GOP or not, this guy does not tell us what to do with OUR aircraft..

Here’s the senator’s version of what happened as found on our local newspaper’s website. A few of the comments below the article are a hoot.

It’s a shame the employee didn’t have a security guard handy. Being flex-cuffed and arrested might have provided a much-needed attitude adjustment for this pompous ass.

As I stated yesterday, IMO, every politician up for re-election in 2010 needs to be challenged with a conservative candidate that will be running against them. That candidate needs to be found now and they need to start their campaigns now. Highlight every vote, every comment, and every action that these politicians make. Put them on notice that they are going to be voted “out” of office for their elitist attitudes, betraying our Constitution, betraying their constituents, and for their actions that are destroying our nation and steeling our freedoms. Exposure and loss of power is all these politicians care about. Power, ego, and greed is their God.

” TSA told The National Journal that they will be examining the event, even though a spokeswoman at the airport told the Times-Picayune that she doubts a police report was filed about the incident. Offenses are judged on a case-by-case basis, and officials aren’t speculating as to whether fines or other punishments will be served to Senator Vitter.”

The ARROGANCE of these pandering social parasites is beyond endurance.

This s.o.b should have been lead away in handcuffs and photographers called.

Just ANOTHER example of why “career legislators” are career criminals - regardless of party or political ideology.

Oh, his "inner jerkass" was well-known in Louisiana before he was elected to Congress.

Vitter is probably the most in-your-face Republican in the Senate, yet few people here are even bothering to caution against what should be obvious - partisan media exaggerations.

Have fun at the political lynching, y'all. I'll pass.

I have heard about that porn star thinking of running against Vitter. Part of her platform is “At least I’m not a hypocrite.”

I understand his frustration and would be inclined to think (admittedly not knowing how difficult or easy it would be) that they could go ahead and let him or another late arrival on if the thing is still attached to the plane.

But this diva fit “do know you who I am”!!!? the answer is always “no” or “I don’t care, jerk”. I shook my head when I heard this. Exactly what we don’t need. And his probable lying in downplaying this “I had a conversion with an airpot worker” doesn’t help either. Better to admit you wigged out and apologize.

Even worse is the “do you know who my dad is!?” routine. The son of the GOP nominee for Governor of Wyoming in 2002 tried it when caught speeding or drunk driving or something. “My dad will have your badge when he’s Governor!” The story came out and his dad lost to Bill Clinton’s Former US Attorney.

Vitter introduced a bill that would require that would end the anchor baby path to citizenship. Right policy, wrong champion, evidently.

TSA could easily be retrofitted into the new gestapo. everyone has to pass their inspection to get anywhere. If you are an enemy of the state, one call could be all it took to make your day a living hell at the airport. Just saying.
