A Defense of Obamanomics
Wall Street Journal ^ | 03/09/09 | Laura Tyson

Posted on 03/09/2009 3:20:39 AM PDT by LifeComesFirst

If leadership is defined as recognizing a crisis, addressing its challenges, and setting new directions while remaining true to one's values, then Barack Obama is already demonstrating his strengths as a leader. He has inherited an economic crisis worse than any the nation has experienced since the Great Depression. Within fewer than 50 days in office he has signed a historic stimulus package to bolster demand and create 3.5 million jobs. Governors, business leaders and economists from both the left and the right have applauded the stimulus. Friday's distressing employment numbers indicate that much more may be needed.

There's a lot to criticize here, but the biggest issue is that she ignores Obama's plan to effectively raise the top marginal tax rate to %56 via social security taxation.

Obama does not understand or appears to not understand the mammoth size of a global credit bubble that is now collapsing.

He, Humpty Dumpty and all the kings donkeys cannot blow the bubble bigger again.

Nor does Obama understand or appear to understand the globull warming hoax. Thus he proposes the huge crap and trade tax.

Who wrote this? Karl Marx?

No need to read further.

Read the Wiki on her. Just as I thought she is a big government, state control advocate who was in Billy Blythe Clinton's first administration as an economic advisor.

She probably has a Communist Party card with a single digit membership number.

This is the same Laura Tyson who used to work for Clinton. Her family owns Tyson Chicken. There was some scandal about her relationship to the Clinton White House regarding the status of her family business. Tyson Chicken was also accused of false advertising regarding the use of Anabolic steroids in their product.

In other works, she is a slug!

I didn’t think of it as barf alert worthy. I disagreed with it, but if you thought that was bad, read something by Krugman.

Then I saw who wrote it.

Well, duh. She [Tyson] is a member of President Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board.

Might as well call it a "defense of my economics."

Obamanomics 101

Obama is simply trying to make stocks more affordable for the 'disenfranchised'. For example, even his broke-*ss brother in Kenya can now afford (barely) to buy shares in Sh*tiGroup. He couldn't do that under George Bush!

Senator Barack Obama's long lost brother has been tracked down for the first time living in a shanty town in Kenya, reports claimed

Mr Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate's half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not be more different than that of the Democratic contender.

"No-one knows who I am", he told the magazine, before claiming: "I live here on less than a dollar a month."

Obama is heaping burdens on business and job creators as the country is teetering on depression.

He is simply purposefully destroying this country.

Sure seems mighty big of the WSJ to give the usual Democrat suspects the opportunity for rebuttal. Then again, those same Democrats have made it clear that they will only allow debate from conservatives if they can’t be silenced. So why does the WSJ editorial board waste its time on these a-holes? They have plenty of their own rags.

She’s a liberal, including outcome when deciding if a project was successful is never part of the routine. It’s the thought that counts. Just ask the British PM.

“That is create or SAVE 3.5 million jobs”

A position that is impossible to quantify or measure. If, and that's a big if, more jobs are created, Zero takes credit. If no jobs are created, a probable certainty considering his job killing policies, he takes credit for “saving” jobs that are only still around despite of his policies, not because of them. Pretty slick. There's only one problem with this. If we continue to hemorrhage jobs at the rate we're going all of the blame will eventually end up on his lap.

Hello ... not one House Republican voted for the Porkulus and only 3 RINOs in the Senate so much for it being a lauded bipartisan act. Second, Porkulus was passed unread and no one knew what was in it and whether it really would help the economy. Since we have learned that Porkulus was little more than a huge pile of pork barrel spending on projects that would bring few jobs and most of it won’t even be available until 2010.

Re: Primitive Communism

The model of primitive communism applies to early human societies because hunter-gatherer societies had no stratification order and did not create surplus. Furthermore primitive societies may have contained all of the features presently associated with the goals of "communism".

In a primitive communist society, all able bodied persons would have engaged in obtaining food, and everyone would share in what was produced by hunting and gathering. There would be almost no private property, other than articles of clothing and similar personal items, because primitive society produced no surplus; what was produced was quickly consumed. The few things that existed for any length of time (tools, housing) were held communally. There would have been no state.

Domestication of animals and plants following the Neolithic Revolution through herding and agriculture was seen as the turning point from primitive communism to class society as it was followed by private ownership and slavery, with the inequality that it entailed. In addition, parts of the population specialized in different activities, such as manufacturing, culture, philosophy, and science. This stratification is said to lead to the development of social classes.

Those groups that advocate a return to or are inspired by hunter-gatherer society are associated with the movement of anarcho-primitivism. However, Marxists believe that this would be an impossible task.

“If we continue to hemorrhage jobs at the rate we’re going all of the blame will eventually end up on his lap.”

This is true. We should start a pool to guess at what percent unemployment will peak. My guess is 12.5% and that will be reached in the 1st qtr of 2010.

Obama will not escape this and his gross incompetence that will get us there. What will turn the people against him will be his condescending arrogant rants at we the people. Even the in the tank media will not be able to protect him from himself.

IMO it is good that the WSJ gives Ms Tyson of the BHO Admin an opportunity to explain the policies, it also educates a lot of citizens about her ideology, experience and political ties.
All good when it is time to be held accountable...make this a Public Record for all to compare the results!
At least no one can wipe this off the record like the Google Tools do!
