you are right..that’s the story. But I believe it was concocted to be just that to spare the family and only point the finger at father. Look, EVERYONE ELSE on Wall St knew that something wasn’t kosher with Bernie. You really think his wife and kids were clueless?

I mentioned what I had read. Didn’t say I believed it. I suspect this plea deal will result in his sons not being subject to prosecution and his wife being able to keep some of the assets. If his wife is not to be taken care of financially, there is no motive for Madoff to plead guilty.

SWAG here, but I’m thinkin’ the old man found out he is terminally ill and figured having his sons turn him in and then talking to the Feds so that wife and kids get their’s was the best option. It would help explain plea deal as well as how he’s been treated so far.
