CNN's chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, has withdrawn his name from consideration for surgeon general, the network and the White House announced Thursday afternoon.
The announcement comes after FOXNews.com reported that Gupta had misgivings about the offer from President Obama and was expected to refuse the position.
CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer said on air Thursday afternoon that Gupta decided that he wants to continue with his medical career and his job at the news network.

Let me guess: he didn’t pay his taxes either.

With Barry’s affinity for basketball, perhaps his next nominee will be Dr. J.

Jeesh, they are dropping like flies or, more aptly, rats deserting a sinking ship/administration.
They've got Treasury so F’d up no one would want to be there. I suspect the mess he's making of Healthcare makes a job at CNN look quite comfortable in the comparison.
Besides, he's probably not filed taxes for a few years and has an undocumented Nanny on the payroll. /sarc

Yeah, if I had a choice to be Surgeon General or stay at CNN and ride that ratings turkey straight into the ground, I'd stay at CNN too.

They can always bring back Josie Elders! Why not - most serving in this administration are Clintonites.
