We’re both from families of 3 kids though. Maybe she’d go for it if I made it sound like a family tradition?
>>yah...Im bettin you didnt think much of Harry Potter, either...<<
Actually, I didn’t think much of the first Harry Potter movie. It was really too much of a childrens film, unlike Narnia and the myriad of CGI disney flics. I didn’t see any of the other HP films.
I can identify with your wife. I love the odd “Lifetime Network” or “Hallmark” movie, but the Sci-Fi channel?! The premise is the same each time, some group of people(...soldiers, outlaws, scientists)... being stalked by a badly outfitted monster in a rubber suit or a bad CGI monster. Sorry, I have to side with your lady. ;-)
She sounds like she needs to get laid, and I’m willing to volunteer.
If Zack does as good a job on this as I think he did, maybe we could talk him into re-doing Wachoski's travesty of V for Vendetta.
I just read her original review. If half of what this woman sez is in the movie is actually in the movie, I’ll pass.
The alternate history theme sounds cool though.
From Debbie, “And maybe your sister should be fed to dogs and your mother raped and your brother should have his arms sawed off. You know, just to make the point.”
I take it back. Debbie is not a run of the mill moron who doesn’t get. She’s in need of some serious mental help. Not only does she not understand the difference between real and imagined (that’s called fiction Debs) violence, but she gleefully wishes real harm on those who dare to disagree with her. She’s just screaming for shock therapy to be re-legalized.
And, yes, you future citizens of "Idiocracy," it's a comic book. Quit your pretentious drivel about this being important because it's a "graphic novel." Memo to the creators of Richie Rich and Archie: You missed your calling. If only you'd called your product a "graphic novel" and added scenes of Archie raping Betty and Veronica and Jughead sawing off Reggie's Arms, you'd be in businesss. Dummies.
LOL. I agree also. Some of these movies are really really bad. I find myself rolling my eyes at their plots and premises. A lot of them would qualify for review by the Mystery Science Theater crew.
I know it isn’t Shakespeare, but the graphic novel The Watchmen was included in Time’s 100 Greatest Novels of All Time. I don’t know how much water this carries, but it does say at least something about the work. The novel is a brutal depiction, you can’t go into the movie expecting it to be any different.
Have fun. Me, I abide by the wise counsel: "Don't stick your **** in the crazy."
The idea that a cultural artifact is only marketed to children if they run ads for it on Nick Jr. and the Disney Channel is equally asinine.
Purple peckers? Just what is this thing?
Family-friendly classics such as Shakespeare are certainly to be preferred to modern cultural degeneracy.
Anybody know when Titus Andronicus is playing around here?
“... to this day I cherish an unappeasable bitterness against the unfaithful guardians of my young life, who not only permitted but compelled me to read an unexpurgated Bible through before I was 15 years old. None can do that and ever draw a clean, sweet breath again this side of the grave. - Mark Twain.
OMG! I used to love MST3K! I live with a bunch of hecklers, my hubbie and my kids are terrible hecklers. We should revive that show.
I am. Got a problem with that? Too bad.
Is that a pun?
