Will the GOP be smart or tough enough to use this? The jury's out on that one, IMO.

“Will the GOP be smart or tough enough to use this? The jury’s out on that one, IMO. “

Jurys out? They’ve been too dumb to use every single advantage they’ve had for the last 8 years. Why would that change now?

There is a democratic revolt... it remains to be seen whether or not there will be a democrat revolt, however.

Lame GOP. I was just watching Larry Ding. The Crat chicks could not defend the ONE. Also they had a poll for Rush vs. Steele. Rush won 5 to 1. But ding after promoting it was scared to report it. Maybe the dumbass Libs have created a MONSTER!.

I’ll believe it when it happens but I doubt it will happen considering the Republicans have been intent over the years to be more like socialist Democrats.

Don’t look to Steele to capitalize on that or try and motivate the GOP to do anything with it.

Steele is a nitwit and another RHINO.

Smart Republicans should be lighting up the phone lines.

Democrats take mortgage deductions and charity deductions too. Churches and universities and charities will get starved out by this tax plan, and loss of the mortgage deduction for upper level earners will further depress housing. Some people on the democrat side must be starting to think it through.

I’d feel one hell of a lot better if we had one or two Zell Miller types in the Senate. All the current Dems goosestep in perfect unison. I guess all those nice majority percs are more important to them than their country.

“One party rule?” needs to be the bumper sticker for the 2010 elections.

allowing the Bush-era tax cuts for wealthy families to expire

Such utter crap. We sure didn't feel too wealthy (NYC single income of about 70k for family of five) when we saw ours.

The uprising has begun. When you can feel the discontent with Porkulus even in a liberal haven like Charlottesville Va (I find I’m almost able to speak my mind these days without castigation) you know some real “change” is afoot.

I wouldn’t get too giddy over supposed “blue dog” unrest. Only seven voted against the “stimulus” bill. Four others who initially opposed it changed from blue to yellow.

You mean like the PUMA women that somehow never turned out to vote for McCain?

If it takes Democrats to stop this commie bastard, we are screwed anyway because we don’t have a single party that truly represents us.

Bush-era tax cuts for wealthy families

Ggrrrr. Marginal rates were cut ACROSS THE BOARD for EVERYBODY. In fact, the biggest tax increases from ending the Bush tax policies will fall on the lowest income earners. Is that old canard EVER going to die?

1. There aren’t that many “Blue Dog Democrats” anymore — certainly not 49. A dozen, maybe 2 dozen tops. Some of them can be controlled, cajoled or kept in line by other means by Ms. Pelosi.

2. The Republicans can’t take advantage of these Blue Dogs because they essentially have nothing to offer. When Reagan was President, Blue Dogs had something to gain by allying themselves in a coalition with the White House and Congressional Republicans. Now, with Obama in the Oval Office and Liberals in control of Congress, the only thing thing that could motivate them is the satisfaction of standing up for principles. And that and $5 will buy you a Latte at Starbucks... Besides, NO, Republicans aren’t smart or savvy enough to exploit Blue Dogs anyway...
