Teen talks about jail-cell beating Auto-theft charge awaits
By SCOTT GUTIERREZ P-I REPORTER
The 15-year-old girl might have been sassing the officer, and the sneaker she kicked off could have hit his shin. She might have, as accused, even stolen a car.
Yet, scores of people around the world who have watched on the Internet and television a veteran King County Sheriff's deputy beating the girl last fall say they don't care. The outrage has become as viral as the holding-cell video clearly displaying the act.

I saw the video. It appears to me that the little self-esteem princess thought she was invulnerable because of her gender and her age, and so she decided to show some attitude and even assault the officer with her shoe. The officer over-reacted, yes, but she is obviously a member of the entitlement generation, a generation in which no kid gets spanked because no kid does wrong.
The cop blew it. It was obviously a war of nerves, and the girl won. The cops were baiting the girl to try to intimidate her and get her to fess up to stealing the car, snitch on her friend, or whatever else they could get her to cough up. In response, she replied with smart-mouth insults and ended up flicking her shoe out into the hallway when they ordered her to remove them in the holding cell. At that point to cop lost it and slammed her ass up one side and down the other - and as a result, she lost the battle and won the war.
A cop who loses his nerves because of a sassy girl, and brutalizes her, shouldn’t be a cop in the first place. Unfit.
After reading the story I would agree the girl got what was deserved. I also would agree with the girl’s father that they may want to look at this guy as to whether he is suited for this line of work based on past performance.
She did not get spanked as a child, and now she finally gets an adult level spanking.
The officer lost it, but I mourn her not.
You beat up 15 year old girls when they have a hissy fit?
Well, the cop was obviously in the wrong, and has a suspect record, with a prior DuI, but man, that punk kid deserved a beating. Maybe this will teach her not to mouth off, and not to steal cars.
Yep, you will find many who think she deserves a beating. Not the majority who will notice who is working for the tax payers there and who is not.
I also doubt and car theft charges stick as it sounds like she was a passenger in a car she might have reasonably expected her friend to have the right to use. It does not say what her friend’s age is.
The Seattle PI is going under!
If I got the article right also 15.
Actually no. But someone else failed to teach this girl there are times when a hissy fit as you call it is not going to do you any good. In your own vein I guess you give your children everything they want. With no limits set by yourself.
I do not see how you can say she would reasonably expect the other person to have permission to use the car. It was not the owners daughter, but another non related girl. And from the tone she was the driver not passenger, due to them stating she took the car without permission.
I am quick to come in the defense of the Cops, after all, I was one for 30 years.
I have seen the video.
The little bitch had it coming, but the Cop lost it and he should now lose his job.
The two unjustified round house punches in he face put me way over... A simple and routine hair hold would been enough to placed her on the floor were compliance would have been recovered.
The Cop will be fired, the bitch will get piles of the county’s money.... and then life will go on.
No, I set limits to my (now adult) kids without beating them up. Discipline and brutality are two different things.
This is the point here. Restraining the girl in the video is one thing... slamming her against the floor, pulling her hair and punching a 15 year old girl for a naught reason, by a seasoned policeman is unprofessional, wimpy and excessive violence.
A lot of fellow civilians, employed in jobs at the pleasure of their local towns, think they are in a ‘privileged group’ too.
Any person that can’t handled getting a 15 year old sassing them is unstable.
Anyway, you have read, no doubt, that after the incident, the officer lied in his report, saying he was injured in his shin, by the sneaker( not by hitting the metal toilet), and that he called EMS and said the girl had an anxiety attack.
So, basically we have a violent, unstable liar.
I’ve heard he has had a record of complaints against him( obviously a organized effort by dark forces in the ‘civilian’ community against him), this incident with the newbie cop( I’ll show you how ‘WE’ do it, kid) and I heard he lied on his report on this incident.
Perhaps.
However, when the officer in question goes to prison, he will very likely get what he deserves.
“A cop who loses his nerves because of a sassy girl, and brutalizes her, shouldnt be a cop in the first place.”
I don’t care what the girl did or said. She did not deserve that beating. The officer should have just locked the door and given both the girl and himself a moment to cool off. This guy should not be a police officer.
