A lot of political types think in terms of positioning and branding and demographics.

Not enough think about persuading people that your ideas are right. Most people including politicians aren’t capable really of persuading people.

Thats Limbaugh’s forte. He is out there every day explaining and analysing and teaching in a way that no one in the GOP seems to know how to do, or have the grit to do. And with most of the print and electronic media in Democrat hands, most of them don’t have the platform to do it anyway.

Limbaugh is our preacher. Its him and a couple of others and then nothing. Just a lot of pretty boys running for office.

He is a kindred spirit to a lot. He is a great analyst who understand libs and can predict what they are going to do. He is invaluable. Without his constant influence, we would have been in a deeper hole long ago.

So true! I am so mad I can’t see straight right now. Rush opened the door for the weenies in our party leadership to go after OBAMA..and what did they do? They fell right into the trap laid for them by Rahm and the corrupt American media.

[The parties get to tinker at the margins, and ideology can be a part of this tinkering, but it’s important not to make too much of it.]

I wouldn’t say Obama’s $$$trillions are exactly tinkering. The author is again part of the problem, not Rush.

Rush is just an “entertainer” who just so happens to have invented a motor that runs on static electricity.

Rush Limbaugh matters a lot. It is asinine to posit otherwise.

First, from the perspective of electoral politics, Rush Limbaugh is not much of a factor.

Operation chaos. The author has number two for brains.

Steele made a mistake. I hope he can apologize to Rush for misspeaking and then can move on.

If Rush isn't much of a factor, why do the liberals in the media continue to discuss him?

He IS a factor, and he's done what the republican leadership apparently doesn't want to do - he's mobilized conservatives.

Want a visual of Dagny Taggart? Think of the chick that plays Deborah on the Showtime series “Dexter.” That’s who I imagined she’d resemble while I was reading Atlas Shrugged.

FWIW.

I listened to the recording of Rush’ address to CPAC. The beginning was his analysis of who conservatives are and what they believe. I nodded my head the whole time thinking, “Yes, that is what I believe!” That is the value Rush Limbaugh brings. He validates our thoughts by letting us know that despite what we hear in the media, we are not alone and our philosophies do make more sense than what is accepted wisdom.

I wasn’t even interested in politics until, as a kid, I heard Rush Limbaugh.

Ditto!
