President Barack Obama will break a campaign pledge against congressional earmarks and sign a budget bill laden with millions in lawmakers' pet projects, administration officials said.
Administration budget chief Peter Orszag and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel both downplayed the $410 billion spending bill and signaled Obama would hold his nose and sign it.
Orszag said: "We want to just move on. Let's get this bill done, get it into law and move forward."
Said Emanuel: "That's last year's business."
The House last week passed the measure that would keep the government running through Sept. 30, when the federal budget year ends. Taxpayers for Common Sense, a watchdog group, identified almost 8,600 earmarks totaling $7.7 billion; Democrats say the number is $3.8 billion.

He's a lying hypocrite. He knew the current Continuing Resolution ends this month yet he conveniently forgot to mention that in his “no earmarks speech” because he thinks he can still blame Bush and he's got the MSM in his back pocket.

It is all ok, this is still w’s budget, a hold over from last year. The earmarks aren’t part of his promise since they occurred before his administration. :)

That's last year's business.
The 8 % increase which I had heard was the largest increase ever is this years business.
The legislation also includes almost $8 billion for 8,500 congressional pet projects known as earmarks, according to the Washington-based Taxpayers for Common Sense. Among the earmarks are $1.8 million for swine odor and manure management research in Iowa, $2 million to promote astronomy in Hawaii and $381,000 for music programs at New York Citys Lincoln Center. The bill is H.R. 1105.

Yep but after Obama’s big “no earmarks” speech I'm not surprised he would sign it.
The blaming Bush will wear thin especially since the Rats purposely withheld the budget so as Obama could be the one to sign it and that to me means to take ownership.

I always thought that the Audacity of Change meant that he would have the audacity to change, but now I understand that he just meant that he would change the Audacity. Change was not the noun, Audacity was!
We were snookered, Obama is as old school Politician as a Prostitute is the oldest profession in the world.

Here is the best quote, AFAIC, from the article:
Obama's top hands assigned responsibility to their predecessors and President George W. Bush.
First, expect "blame Bush" for another four years - even when it involves breaking his promise and anything Obama has complete control over.
Second:
