My Letter to RNC Chairman Steele (Vanity)

Posted on 02/28/2009 3:46:28 PM PST by wingsof liberty

Below is how I responded to RNC Chairman Steeles latest request for funding:

February 28, 2009

Dear Mr. Steele-

Congratulations on your appointment to RNC Chairman. I sincerely hope you are successful in taking our party back to its conservative principals and majorities in the House and Senate.

2 major obstacles within our own party stand in the way of these goals:

1) The GOP needs to swear off earmarks AS A PARTY – Republicans have been slamming Democrats for earmarks and “so-called” earmarks recently. Unfortunately, 40% of the earmarks put forth in the recent omnibus spending bill are not from Democrats, but from Republicans!! I believe you need to hold these lawmakers accountable for their actions. We will never regain the trust of the American people unless we practice what we preach.

2) A firm line needs to be held against the Democrats agenda – As long as President Obama can rely on support from liberal Republicans such as Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, he never has to worry about a filibuster. This will allow the administration to pass its radical agenda unopposed, and ensure our children and grandchildren will be paying the debts of today for decades to come. Please help misguided Republicans see the error of their ways and regain their support for our parties core values.

Will accomplishing these 2 steps alone ensure victory? No they wont. But they will get us headed in the right direction and show the American people we mean what we say and we cant spend our way out of this crisis. When you have accomplished these goals, I will be proud to once again donate to the Republican Party.

Once he starts making some progress on these two fronts, THEN I will start sending him money. I am asking all Freepers to respond to these funding letters with letters of your own. Tell him how you feel! I will say one thing - hes got his work cut out for him.

The biggest problem with your letter is Steele is a RINO. He is pro-gun control. I’ve even heard he is pro-choice.

The RNC is not getting any money or help from me until it has a conservative at the helm.

To get your message to the head honcho you must first get through or around the staff.

Jamming all their communication might get attention.

I appreciate your effort, I'll be glad to help.

FWIW, I've been sending letters like this for some time now.

An example from last October:

Hi,

You guys constantly abuse my mailbox with letters whining and begging for support. And thus far I have successfully ignored you, instead contributing bucks directly to Republican candidates whose conservative views align with mine.

I read an article today saying you are deserting Reps. Michele Bachmann, Marilyn Musgrave, Tom Feeney and Joe Knollenberg. What a bunch of wimps. Where are your cojones?
Source: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2113012/posts and http://tinyurl.com/697lnb

It would appear you are a willing participant in helping Nancy Pelosi achieve her dream of a veto proof House.

Sorry for the editorial, but y'all piss me off.

Now my question: What is the maximum amount I can contribute to these valiant incumbents who are trying to prevent America from turning into a third world country? I'm gonna write some fat checks today.

Thanks!

I'm not questioning your statement. But do you have a source(s)? Might be handy the next time I write a letter.

Can we have some addresses on here for writing, not only to Chairnman Steele, but to other high ranking people in the Republican Party?

What is the process by which the chairman comes to office?

Steele is in no way pro-abortion. Perhaps if your knowledge base extended beyond “well, I’ve even heard....” you’d realize this.

I am asking all Freepers to respond to these funding letters with letters of your own.

I will send my response tomorrow. I will make it clear that my future political contributions will go to the NRA and to JPFO.

I will not send another dime to the RINO Party.

Sorry, I threw out the envelope. My apologies, an address should have been part of my post. I was simply appealing to all Freepers who will be getting these letters.

"The biggest problem with your letter is Steele is a RINO. He is pro-gun control. I’ve even heard he is pro-choice."

This is exactly why the GOP is in trouble. On the one hand, a true RINO like Romney wins the CPAC straw poll (twice), and on the other hand, a promising electable conservative like Steele gets called a RINO.

So you heard Steele is pro choice? You've got a computer, Google it! He is not pro choice, he is pro stem-cell. I know this is a touchy issue, but there is a difference. On the issue of gun control, he is NRA endorsed, and the only criticisms about Steele regarding the 2nd Amendment I could find were dodgy at best, and appeared to come from the fringe. To my view, Steele and Palin may be the best shot we have. Reagan started out as "New Deal" Dem for Pete's sake! I guess that made him a RINO. We conservatives had better get it together or we will lose this nation to socialism. Dismissing Steele will only hand us another McCain, which will lead to one Obama after another.

He is pro status quo, which is pro-abort. Do some research.

I have received a handful of letters asking for contributions as well. I usually just put a short note in telling them that I will no longer contribute to the RNC but directly to true conservatives. I have also been emailing my Senetors and Congressman more frequently and giving comments based on their voting records. I think they need to be propped up for doing the right thing as much as criticized for going against conservative values.

I just mailed my latest reply to the RNC funding requests, first one with Michael Steele's name on it. On this one I wrote that he needs to get a handle on the Republicans that put 40% of the earmarks in the latest Omnibus bill. Told him/RNC that if they want to act like Democrats all they were going to get from me is Democrat money and put a printout of a $1000 bill with Obamas face on it I found on the net.

I am sure it will hit the round file and be ignored, but made me feel better for a few minutes...

Because McCain was nominated, RNC will receive no support from us.

How about sending these little requests over...

1) Fair tax - biggest move to put the power in our hands and cap what the government can spend. Eliminates the need for the IRS.

2) Monetary system based on gold or something similar, something tangible, something real so that people know in 30 years that what they have will be valuable. Eliminates the need for the Fed.

3) A focus on savings and investment for every citizen.

4) The elimination of social security - it is a ponzi scheme and it has to fail.

5) term limits

6) Abolish the electoral college - all national positions done by popular vote

7) All positions are up for election every 4 years

8) All national chair positions are voted on by the country

9) No life pension for anyone elected, with exception of the President,VP, etc…

10) Our government has to abide by all the same exact laws it passes including all the accounting rules, regs, etc.

11) No more pork, all expenditures have to stand on their own, be published to the public and accountability must come full circle on 100% of the expenditures - JUST LIKE A BIZ HAS TO.

12) Majority of decisions need to be handled by the states.

13) Massive tort reform

14) Campaign finance limits and based fully on public money - no more private raises

15) Lobbying is ONLY about free speech and no financial gain can occur, etc…

16) Abolish unions and outlaw them.
