Just viewing the video we can see plainly that the department acted illegally.
(Sidebar: Can you imagine the uproar if it was a MUSLIM woman subjected to this type of search and being stripped naked in front of males. Wow. But because she is not muslim no sensitivity is necessary. We can know that if she was a muslim woman the department would have handled that strip and search differently. Are non-muslim women not allowed the same level of modesty?)
As a former police officer (many years ago) I usually side with the police, giving the benefit of doubt to them. Not in this case. Going by the video alone, the police have much to answer for.
Gee, I wish people would read my entire post. I’m not defending the cops, I’m condemning the TV station and reporter for reporting a biased story. And it sounds like a few Freepers still believe in the Tooth Fairy. The station reports “as fact”, the second hand story of someone who wasn’t even there. According to the station, the “victim” was assaulted by a cousin. She had someone call the cops to report it. A “confused” deputy shows up and arrests the “victim” for no other reason than, apparently, because he was confused. If you believe that story, then Obama can end this recession tomorrow- he can have the banks sell you some of that foreclosed swamp land in Florida!
