That first picture, that was sick, and large too.

This is confirmation of the regression of humankind. We have a death-cult ‘religion’ that wants to plunge the world back to the 12th century, and supposedly ‘civilized’ people looking for ways to undo modern progress and go back to the most primitive of living conditions!

I agree with you... to a point.

IMHO, we've become a seriously wasteful society. Everything is disposable and the sad part is that we pay for all that garbage.

I love cloth diapers for babies and I really don't see how cloth "napkins" are any different. If somebody chooses to use them, it doesn't hurt anything.

What I object to is that the Left wants *everyone* to live their way. If you don't comply, Big Government will force you to either by law or by taxing your choices to death.

Personally, I'm going back to basics in many ways and I have no problem considering getting rid of most of my paper products. (I'm down to one roll of paper towels a month. We only use that for things that are *really* bad like the cat throwing up. For everything else, we use dish rags and towels.)

But I have a BIG problem being told that I *must* choose this lifestyle and I'd *never* tell somebody that my way of life is the only way to live.

(I do have a problem with people whining that they're broke, but they won't consider giving up fast food or pre-packaged meals. Heaven forbid that they have to give up their $5.00 morning cup of coffee! But again, it's their life. Just don't ask me to pay for their screwed up decisions.)

I agree about waste. I buy the cheapest stuff possible if it is meant to go down a drain. We used cloth diapers on our babies too: especially nice if you have a clothesline to dry them on. That isn’t very common these days, especially with apartment living.
But reusable TOILET PAPER-no, some things should be disposable for sanitary purposes. What’s next, reusable sanitary products for women? Gaaa!
I’m not for going back to prairie days. My ancestors fought too hard to improve their lives, and mine.

I’m not trying to start a debate (really, REALLY, I’m not! lol!), but I am curious. How would cloth toilet wipes be any different than cloth diapers? Wouldn’t all of the same principles apply?

And now for the confession: I actually do use them. :-)

The cloths are kept in a large, flat Gladware container. Before I put the clean cloths in the container I add a *tiny* drop of liquid soap and a few drops of bleach to the water, then I put the cloths in.

To dispose: I have a very nice (and tiny) stainless steel, lidded garbage can with a plastic liner in it sitting by the toilet. I fill it 1/2 way up with warm water and add some Borax, a bit of laundry soap and a cap-full of bleach. Twice a week I wash the contents of the pail and clean it out. There is *no* odor.

Honestly, I feel a *lot* cleaner after cleaning off with a damp cloth than I ever did with toilet paper.

I keep a roll of TP by the toilet for guests and to sometimes use as a “pre-wipe” for #2’s.

But frankly, I’m mystified. Why the stigma? It’s clean, fresh, odorless, easy, saves some stress on my septic tank... I understand that a lot of people wouldn’t go there (and I’m really fine with that- I’m not trying to save the planet, just my own checking account), but why turn a nose up to people who do? People are fine with cloth diapers, but why not this? I don’t think there’s any difference between the two other than the perception.

Again, I’m not looking for an argument. I just don’t understand.

For me, I’m just sick of flushing money down the toilet and throwing it out in the trash. Even if the cloth toilet wipes and using dish towels instead of paper towels only saves me $15 a month (after the soap, water and electricity of washing them)... well, that’s my cell phone bill.

And it’s one heck of a lot less painful than using cheap toilet paper! :-)

Ha, Ha!!!!!! Tell that to any parent of an infant pre-toilet training who shall we say had: a poopy explosion. Most likely they have help doing the job for them. I like my Cottonelle Aloe and E Tissue and if they take that from me, someone is preparing for a New York Beatdown!!!!!!/Just Asking - seoul62.......

No debate- write it off to esthetics, and the different size
of the butts with TP-vs-diapers. Who enjoys doing baby diapers that have been ,shall we say, filled up?
Why go there with adults? I’ve had to change adult diapers for my late father.I can’t imagine having to rewash wipes after a job like that . And what if toilet paper goes the way of the incandescent lighbulb in the name of ‘green’?

I prefer nasty stuff bathroom stuff gone, immediately. Personal, disposable, wipes are available for a cleaner feeling; but washing out my own( not to mention a family’s worth of) reusable T.P. is just repugnant to me. But you have at it; I’m not debating your reasoning.

Toilet paper is a damned fine use of trees if you ask me! :p
