Great, government actually using logic. The war on drugs is a joke, we could save a ton of money without it and actually make room for harden criminals in prisons.

This is a states rights issue. The Feds have no business getting involved. The Controlled Substance Act is yet one more piece of Nixon’s pathetic legacy. It should be scrapped. Let the states regulate this themselves. They have their own laws on gambling, tobacco, and alcohol. Abolish the DEA. Abolish the ATF. Divert all their resources to Border Patrol. Simple.

The real war begins now that the cops are no longer providing you pukes free guard service.
You see what' going on in Juarez? That's the business you're dealing with and it has it's own "enforcement" elements.

This is good. It’s none of the Feds business. We are supposed to be separate states. Let us govern ourselves, without central planning from DC. If Cali wants to do this, they should be free to do so. We benefit from observing what transpires.

No actually legalizing it and taxing it will greatly diminish the criminal element. Leave it up to the states!

And a stoned populace is a more easily controlled populace. Yeah, all those hippies were SO controllable. LoL. A populace dicated to by the Feds is a more easily controlled populace. Let the states govern themselves. A decentralized populace with local control is a less controllable populace.

MJ is not in the same class as alcohol and tobacco. For one thing it's the price per pound that attracts the bad elements, and it does attract them. Plus, they know the stoners aren't able to put up much resistance and are easy to steal from.
Best part of this deal is that within 6 months there'll be many fewer dealers.

“Look for traffic fatalities and violent crimes to go up under Obama. Ron Paul supporters are rejoicing. Now they can resume their pot lucks.”
They've had medical marijuana in California since 1996. The dispensaries really didn't start getting raided until recent years, and even when the raids were going on the number of dispensaries kept growing. Did marijuana use go up during these years? No. It actually went down. According to government statistics, California's per capita marijuana use rates are only slightly higher than the national average. There are several states that don't have medical marijuana where a higher percentage of the people smoke pot.
I'm providing you a link to state marijuana use estimates from SAMHSA’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health, the most comprehensive government survey on drug use in the U.S. Note that teen use in California is actually lower than the national average. See Table B.2: http://www.oas.samhsa.gov/2k6state/AppB.htm#TabB-2

This is just the first step to Obama legalizing marijuana. At which point traffic accidents and violent crimes will go up. Marijuana is just the first stepping stone to move on to another substance, such as meth, cocaine, heroine, etc.

I have mixed feeling about this.
When I was young I smoked it. I don’t now because it is illegal and I may have to pass dug tests.
I went to college for bachelors degrees in BOTH Physics and Computer Science, so apparently I am not as stupid as I look.
I worked for the cops and WITH the cops and my son is a cop. All are in agreement- they almost never break up a domestic from potheads- but many times for drunks.
I don’t think is it bad for you- like everythig else only in moderation and I would have no objection to it being legal. I would not mind legally being able to relax on a firday night and watch a movie while slightly buzzed.
It is the overuse of it that is a problem, just like overuse of alcohol. If you are drunk OR stoned all day EVERY day then you have a problem.
But I believe once in a while is relaxing and may actually have medicinal effects. I notice my hair stopped falling out when I was smoking (too late for that now) and my eyesight was better and I had a stonger stomach (no more travle sicnkess)
