Olbermann is exceedingly intellectually dishonest as he does this. For example, he claims that "birth certificate" and presents on screen a document which on close examination reveals that it is a, "certificate of life birth." Of course,Olbermann does not even discussthe underlying issue whether under Hawaii law such a document is in fact sufficient to establish birth within the state.
But the point is that Olbermann uses Alan Keyes as a foil and describes him as a "right wing wingnut." My problem with these objections to Alan Keyes is that I am Ordinarily unpersuaded by the ad hominem and want to see real proof and actual facts.
By a fortuitous circumstance Alan Keyes is black, therefore Olbermann must use other methods to demean a conservative, in this case by attacking his sanity.
I invite you to watch the Olbermann video which is revealing for what it leaves out as well as for its demagoguery:

What he says is right on target. It's the bizarre and egotistical way that he often comes across when he speaks. I wish he would one-day realize that he needs to tone down that aspect of his presentation.
I wish someone in the Judicial Branch would listen to Dr. Keyes and the others who have joined in this fight.
We have a lot to loose if we don't!
“Shut up, you idiot.”
Ah, the very mindset which handed the Republic over to the Democrats! Your attitude is why conservativism LOST last November. Keep it up and we can keep on losing!

Even the craziest guys have a grain of truth in them.
I listened to a radio preacher who lost his radio station.
The FCC of Richard Nixon took it in response to liberal groups using the Fairness Doctrine to challenge the stations license.
Dr. Carl McIntire liked to say things and do things to draw attention to himself (A Clintonesque personality). McIntire used the Bible in ways I don’t agree with. He even said Social Security was in the scripture. (”Honor thy father and mother”)
But Dr. McIntire rightly called for victory in the Vietnam War and opposed the Nixon-Kissinger Paris Peace Accords. The downfall of the Nixon presidency that followed the “peace treaty” and Congress’s refusal to aid South Vietnam when the Communists broke the treaty sealed that nation’s fate.
Even crazy guys can be partially right about an issue.
I’m willing to listen to Keyes because I don’t want us all to end up in the trap that Reverend Niemoller spoke of regarding the opposition to Hitler being divided.
On the other hand, I’m not into any crazy attention getting ego driven stunts. Keyes needs to calm down and prayefully consider his moves in opposing the Obama regieme.
“Lookit, we always were livid at the shots at President Bush that for eight years came from EVERY spectrum of the Democrat Party.”
And from others too, me included and indeed people around here did get livid. That reaction certainly didn’t win us the election and may well have lost it for us.
“So, for gosh sakes, let’s encourage public figures like Keyes to speak out. We’ve got to demonize Obama (although he’s already a demon) in the public eye as much as we can.....and it has to come from every gamut in the Republican spectrum.”
MG, if we do this, we will be marked as loons and crazies. The great unwashed doesn’t want to be identified with loons and crazies. The fact is, the courts think Keyes is off base. The Supremes with a working conservative majority wouldn’t give this theory that Obama isn’t a natural born American a “day in court”. Its over and done. Calling Obama a communist, under the present economic circumstances, just boosts communism among the masses. There is NO support out on the street for “capitaism as usual”. The only support out there is for neck tie parties for bankers and plutocrats...whom the masses identify with the GOP. We keep this up and by 2010 we’ll be lucky to hang on to the seats we’ve got. In the meantime, believing he is in fact a communist is delusional. He’s not a communist; he’s a ward pol from the Chicago Democrat machine. Understand that and we can figure out a way to cut off his support and gain it for conservative candidates who stand for something other than lunacy and the plutocracy.
Hang in there,Kolokotronis !!
Ronald Reagan used Alan Keyes as a political prop, and the Republican party followed suit for a while.
Now the “Independents”-(some of whom are Aryan Separatists !)- are using him as a figurehead.
One would think - after a while - he’d catch on, and salvage what’s left of his reputation.
When Keyes came to Illinois to run for president in 2008, his first order of business was reparations for the blacks, That is what shot his candidacy down right from the git go. He was seen as a black racist opportunist, attempting to use the black vote to further himself.
Interesting to note his body language vs. that of the typical politician. Keyes is telling the truth, no shifty-eyes, no conciliatory stance or distracting hand gestures.
“Shut up, you idiot.”
Every issue we conservatives stand for is marked as "wing nut" anyway so I guess we might as well just give up fighting for anything, according to you and the others who show up to discourage this particular fight.
Listen to you, walking around on eggshells worrying about how the mainstream media might characterize you. Like it matters what propagandist enemies say about you. You idiot, that’s exactly what they been working so hard to establish, an environment where weak, wussy people like you are so afraid of being criticized that you toe the lines they have established. Grow some cubes, get some guts, and speak the truth, boldly.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Keyes is right period.
Keyes certainly has the reputation - however I’ve never known or seen him to speak anything but the truth - Keyes’ positions are pretty much FR positions - just articulated better.
I have personally met Alan Keyes and he is not nutcase. Your calling him that makes you one.
In the mid 30s they thought Churchill was a nutcase for suggesting that Adolf Hitler was a bad guy.
Well said and a hat tip to you :)
I have always said Allan Keyes was a nutcase, However even this nutcase is right about this. Too bad it takes a nutcase to say the truth.
