Sens. Mikulski & Specter's H-2B Bill Multiplies Less-Educated Foreign Workers

Sens. Mikulski & Specter's H-2B bill multiplies less-educated foreign workers to keep less-educated Americans unemployed

By Roy Beck, Wednesday, February 18, 2009.

Latest data reveal 1.6 million American young adults (18-29) with only a high school degree who are looking for a job but can't find one.

Yet, Sens. Mikulski and Specter have introduced a bill to double or triple the visas for less-educated foreign workers over the next three years to compete against those unemployed young Americans.

And 23 Senators have already co-sponsored the bill.

It is my unfortunate role to regularly tell you of supposedly august public officials who seem totally unaware of the unemployment disaster befalling the American people.

Do Mikulski and Specter hate lower-educated and less sklled American young adults?

Or do the wads of contributions from greedy corporate lobbyists just make it impossible for them to see the struggles of our national community's most vulnerable members?

One problem is that most Senators are rich and primarily hang around with other rich people. They can't imagine their own kids making beds, waiting tables, running a cash register or checking passes at ski lifts.

In short, most Senators apparently cannot even see the 15.1 million young American adults (18-29) who have no more than a high school diploma and whose job prospects are heavily in the service industry.

H2B visas SCREW the American worker and assure that the American worker must work for the same crap wages that foreigner is all to happy to work for!

VAIL RESORTS is a prime example!

specter is just trying to help his buddies in the democratic party with new voters, each of whom will vote at least 5 times each.

I just got home from a short ski vacation at Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts in Colorado. I was walking by the area where the instructors meet their clients yesterday and was shocked! Almost all of the instructors that were standing and waiting for clients were FOREIGNERS and almost all the instructors waiting for work including several wearing the full teacher certification badge were AMERICANS! (they all wear name tags with their home country on them)

The Denver paper had an article about all the foreigners who were allowed in on “Q-1” Visa last Dec. but I had no idea it was that bad.

Here is the article:

“Resorts try new tactic to get foreign workers” - The Denver PostOct 28, 2008 ... Vail Resorts Inc.’s Q-1 visas are being used for ski instructors, ... Elizabeth Aguilera: 303-954-1372 or eaguilera@denverpost.com ...

I called a close friend at the resort and asked her what was going on. She said there was a meeting last week talking about the status of the foreign instructors on the Q-1 visas. She said even though there was not enough work for the Americans the foreigners were being kept for the rest of the season and that anyone who didn’t like it could leave. She also said that anyone caught talking to ANYBODY about this issue would be fired!

Then she sent me this:

Hello Gang, There will be a 2009-2010 visa information meeting on Wed. February 25. Where: Children’s Ski and Snowboard School downstairs Time: 4:30pm Please see Rob Mahan with questions or concerns.

What an absolute joke. Thanks to H1Bs every company in America is now trying to get on the bandwagon of cheap, indentured servant labor. Mikulski and Spector should simply try and revode the 13th Amemendment and call it what it really is - Slavery.
