Deletions violate Nagin's own policy

The decision by Mayor Ray Nagin's administration to delete virtually every e-mail sent and received by Nagin last year was not only an apparent violation of the state public-records law, it also flies in the face of a detailed policy recommendation prepared less than a year ago by the mayor's own technology office.

No wonder the Convention Center is still closed since Katrina.

Rest of story here.

You've got that right.

Last year he was caught paying friends for work not done on the repairing of blue-tarped roofs. Will he be prosecuted? Who knows.

Irrelevant. You can’t just “delete” emails. Unless he deleted the emails and then had the disk overwritten a couple of times, them emails ain’t really deleted. It shouldn’t be that hard to find out what his incompetent a$$ been up to (and it can’t be anything good, or he wouldn’t have had to delete those emails, right?)

Everyone has to understand- this is New Orleans, where 386 computers are high technology! Where the Inspector General was so stonewalled that the poor SOB left- and when he did his office had JUST gotten computers( after a year!)
Nothing- absolutely NOTHING gets done here unless the ‘right’ people, connected people, get the contracts or say-so over them. It’s blatant- everyone knows the name of the game, where you get screaming is when someone breaks the ‘code’ and speaks of it openly.
Ray-Ray put the CRAY in crazy, and he’s on the way out. Gotta set the buds up first, make sure everyone gets all they can in the way of contracts and kickbacks before he moves on and becomes Texas’ problem.

Get ready, Texas!

The convention Center is not closed. It reopened less than a year after “the thing”. But C. Ray is still an idiot.
