Petaluma, Calif. - President Barack Obama's stimulus bill offers $499 billion in new government spending. The bill contains no specific provisions to direct even one dollar of those funds to America's 26 million small businesses.

According to the most recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, firms with less than 20 employees account for over 90 percent of all American businesses and are responsible for more than 97 percent of all new jobs. These small businesses also employ over 50 percent of all private sector workers.

It was never about private sector jobs ... only growing government.

As the owner of a small business, I don’t want their d$%m money. They already mess with my business enough.

This is not by accident.

Of course not, this was the design.

Big Business is already beholden to and in the pocket of Big Government. Small businesses are entirely too independent and must be destroyed.

Seeing what is going on, can there be any doubt that Obama's mission is to utterly destroy the middle class and the economic engine of small-business free enterprise?

He's trying to create a feudal society with only two classes. We're the peasants.

Not true. As an aside, I assist companies and people with SBA loans.

There are three basic ones that people can use for Vets, max of 2 million and a max of 8 million.

The SBA used to only guarantee 75% of the loan. Now it goes to 90%. that is excellent for any bank and should get some credit moving.

If you need information or want assistance with SBA loans, sent me a note off line.

Small businesses aren’t unionized. Small-business people aren’t saps who believe his lies. Small-business people aren’t on welfare.

If he could destroy them, he would.

He wants to remake society as completely as Mao and Pol Pot.

He has already signed the death warrant for private healthcare. I think the bishops are going to discover in a week or two that running a Catholic hospital is ALREADY illegal. If not actually, the mechanisms are in place now that will make it impossible—because any facility that won’t do abortions and won’t kill old people will be “not in compliance” with the new cost-saving dictates.

There nothing new about that, except maybe the size of it. Government has had a cozy relationship with corporate America for too, too long. This relationship, greased through the pleadings of special access lobbyists and campaign contributions is not Captialist. It is Fascist.

They almost all Republicans too. We believe in the strength of the individual and that you can accomplish anything with an optimistic attitude and hard work. These traits to commies like Obama are like a cross to a vampire.

I've discovered that about half of the "baristas" at my local Starbucks are former small business owners from the local area. They are feeling the pinch of the contracting economy. Serving coffee is "survival" mode for them while they figure out what to do next. One of the bartenders at Applebee's is a grad student at ISU. The local businesses have some pretty bright folks doing relatively menial work for their level of expertise. The typical unskilled or semi-skilled candidates that often fill these positions are way down the list when you have a labor pool of high end college students competing.
