Mexican Gunmen Kill Police Officer, 10 Members of His Family

TABASCO, Mexico —

Gunmen killed a state police officer and 10 members of his family, including five children, during a violent weekend that left at least a dozen Mexicans dead in separate events.

The shooting late Saturday also killed a street vendor in front of the house of state police officer Carlos Reyes, said Tabasco deputy prosecutor Alex Alvarez. Among the five children killed was a 2-year-old boy.

Reyes was a member of a special unit of high-level officers who investigated organized crime and kidnappings, the Latin American Herald Tribune reported.

Police hadn't determined a motive for the attack but Reyes directed a car chase and raids on two homes on Wednesday that led to the death of three suspected gang members and the arrest of seven others, Alvarez said.

"It is confirmed that [the assailants] wanted to kill the state police officer but they killed his whole family," Alvarez said.

At least a dozen gunmen in three SUVs sprayed the house with bullets, leaving police to find 11 bodies scattered inside three houses, the Latin American Herald Tribune reported.

Don’t you think it’s past time our government calls the situation in and coming from Mexico what it is???

Official United States Government Definition of Terrorism

“[An] act of terrorism, means any activity that (A) involves a violent act or an act dangerous to human life that is a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any State, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or of any State; and (B) appears to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by assassination or kidnapping.”

(United States Code Congressional and Administrative News, 98th Congress, Second Session, 1984, Oct. 19, volume 2; par. 3077, 98 STAT. 2707 [West Publishing Co., 1984])

Mexican criminal gangs have crossed the line from mere criminality into terrorism. They are no longer mere criminals, they are terrorists.

The most dangerous job in the world is to be a Mexican police chief; on the border they don’t live more than a couple of hours of being sworn in. Even deep in the heartland an honest cop risks not only his own life but obviously that of his whole family.

I love Mexico; but it is unraveling. Its more dangerous to be a cop in Mexico than it is to be a cop in Baghdad. More of them have been killed than American soldiers in Iraq.

This is how homicide terror bombers and their families should be dealt with. Then you’d have a whole lot less terrorism.
Take our their dogs, cats, moms, dads, sisters brothers, mothers and fathers, children and goldfish.
Enough hand wringing and nonsense.

Unfortunately you are correct, the ONLY thing these people understand is force, the brutal, uncaring, remorseless use of force, make them shit themselves at the mere though of angering us.

I do not like to have to be that way but you’re exactly correct.

Mexico is one big hell-hole now....and it does not seem the Mexi-Narcos are content with just merely bribing cops now.

Its time to secure and seal the Mexican border...

As stated by one of the higher ups in the Mexican Mafia, “America doesn’t need to fear Al Queda nearly as much as the Mexican mafia and drug cartel”

Here is the core of the problem and the reason I think legalization is necessary:

The anti-drug operation, however, has failed to put a dent in the violence due, according to experts, to drug cartels' ability to buy off the police and even high-ranking prosecutors.

As much as I am against drug use there is so much money involved that entire countries can be controlled with drug money. Legalizing it will increase competition, add legitimate controls and greatly lower the prices.
