If not for Collins, Snow and Spector, the entire bill would have been thrown away, and a new one without the pork would have been produced.
Hence my tag line.

The two of them should have the decency and honesty to switch their party affiliation to the DhimmiRats. They, along with Specter, are NOT conservatives, in any sense of the word.

Snowe was reelected in 2006 with 74% of the vote and Collins was reelected in November with 61.5% of the vote. They have been untouchable in Maine.

"I had an infinite number of ideas, because they had been stored up," says Snowe, a Maine Republican who never got that kind of treatment when her party controlled the White House. Impossible.
Given the number of available, functional brain cells, you might be able to come up with half of an idea.
Maybe.

Now that is a scary thought.

And I am sure not one of them was used.

I raised this before, I'll raise it again: Would it not be possible to flip a couple of Blue Dogs with the promise of coming into the GOP with some or all the perks of the Concubines' (or Spectral's) seniority and committee assignments? Of course, the Concs and Spectral would probably defect to the Democratic caucus. But what would that change? We didn't have those votes anyway.
I believe the states where the Blue Dogs come from would be unlikely to complain if their rep stopped voting with the Communists in the Senate.
Am I missing something here?

“This is not the first time Collins and Snowe have broken ranks with their party. They have often found themselves at odds with the GOP leadership on taxes, budgets, the environment and social issues.”
What’s left? the naming of Post Offices?
Can we kick them out from the party for this treason? There has to be a limit.

According to the American Conservative Union’s rankings, Snowe voted the conservative position on major issues 49% of the time over her career and 28% of the time in 2007. Collins has voted conservative 52% of the time and 36% in 2007.
By way of contrast, Democratic Ben Nelson has voted conservative 52% of the time during his time in Congress and 32% conservative in 2007.

Just get rid of them.It will be a while before we will be near a majority.
