I think there's a lot of that going on already.
Lots of folks who used to own homes are now in rentals (like yours truly), and skilled workers who've been laid off and can't find work are forcing the less-skilled into unemployment.
And of course, the unskilled/unemployed resort to criminality and welfare to survive.
All in all, I sense a growing mood of desperation. I was just told by a lady at a local charity that they're now helping a lot of people who not long ago were donating money, food, and other assistance to the needy.
Sort of a downward pressure is being exerted, wouldn't you say?

This nation, and the world, does not have the character it had in the 1930’s. It’ll be a bloodbath on many levels, almost certainly ending in some sort of “big” war, possibly involving nukes.
Forget gold. If you don’t have guns and ammo somewhere, you should.
