President Barack Obama's picture was removed this week from a Presidents Day sign at the Peterson Air Force Base commissary after customers complained that the image did not fit the holiday commemorating the birthdays of past presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
The head of the local NAACP and a commissary employee say it was blatant racism.

Searched FR, didn't find this story, figured it was buried on a Friday. Of course, the porkulus bill also buried this story as well.
I do believe we are going to see a whole bunch of this in the next three years and eleven months.

That is a lie. I have shopped at Commissaries (both in the US and overseas) for 25 years and the Defense Commissary Agency has never posted pictures of the current President.
One customer, a military retiree, objected this year because of Obama's race, the cashier said. "He said they're not going to have no black man on the window where he shops," the cashier said.
Notice how the reporter found one yahoo and inserted this right in between that lie above and the official truth below to make a racial point.
The commissary agency disputed the cashier's story, saying no past presidents have had their picture displayed with the holiday message.
And that is FACT.
The Obama Worshipers want us to bow down and prostrate ourselves to this evil man and his harpie wife.
No thanks.
Moreover, this nation used to celebrate Washington's Birthday as a national holiday and separate event in February.
It wasn't until the 1990's (Clinton strikes again) that we came up with President's Day, and the intent there was to celebrate Lincoln's birthday, also in February.
As the first federal holiday to honor an American citizen, the holiday was celebrated on Washington's actual birthday, February 22. On January 1, 1971 the federal holiday was shifted to the third Monday in February by the Uniform Monday Holiday Act. A draft of the Uniform Holidays Bill of 1968 would have renamed the holiday to Presidents' Day to honor both Washington and Lincoln, but this proposal failed in committee and the bill as voted on and signed into law on June 28, 1968 kept the name Washington's Birthday. By the mid-1980s, with a push from advertisers, the term "Presidents' Day" began its public appearance.[1] The theme has expanded the focus of the holiday to honor another President born in February, Abraham Lincoln, and often other Presidents of the United States. Although Lincoln's birthday, February 12, was never a federal holiday, approximately a dozen state governments have officially renamed their Washington's Birthday observances as "Presidents Day", "Washington and Lincoln Day", or other such designations.

I never got much of a chance to shop at commissaries during my enlistment, so I’ll take your word for it.
Might as well dig out the DVD of “Holiday Inn”, and celebrate the holiday with Bing Crosby...
(yes, one of the holidays in the movie is Washington’s Birthday...)
Each ensuing president has left some marks on our history --but we certainly can't honor every one's birthday with a holiday.
IMHO, it should be Washington's birthday that is honored, and the rest can get their reward on judgement day.
I haven’t been to a commissary since we PCS’ed from Ft Hood in Oct, but I remember seeing signs with Lincoln and Washington from previous years.
Speaking of Washington...an FYI for anyone in the area...you can sample breakfast with “George Washington” at Mount Vernon this morning (I’m leaving in an hour). Hoecakes “swimming in butter and honey”. Tomorrow the Old Guard and all the bells and whistles will be out and about, with a wreath laying...and it’s also free tomorrow (and probably packed). And on the 22nd, if your name is George, or your birthday happens to be the 22nd of Feb...you get in free!
If anyone wakes up an gets this guy thrown out, do we get another holiday in his ‘’honor’’.

Next, the tradition of only having dead Presidents on money will be sidestepped because it’s racist to not have any black people on money.
Oh, and Obama sure would like to see his face on some currency. Would make the King feel even better.

Opression By Any Means Available
Anything can happen now that we are outnumbered in Congress. I’ve already heard about those wanting a national holiday for Obama, his face on money would be no surprise to me. Then they’ve already named school(s) after BHO. It’s out of control, but we can’t do anything.
They were just celebrating George Washington, America’s first white president...that’s all!
