Stimulus Bill Will Lead to "Unmitigated Disaster."
YouTube ^ | Feb. 6, '09 | Peter Schiff

Posted on 02/14/2009 12:52:38 PM PST by T.L.Sink

The stimulus bill violates every free market principle and, as in physics, every action creates an equal and opposite reaction. We've now created a Ponzi-scheme economy and our unmanageable debt will inevitably lead to hyper-inflation of the sort that has always destabilized the political and economic infrastructure of every nation that's experienced it. We're in for a prolonged period of "inflationary depression." The new socialist political strucure has developed a Soviet-style command economy of the sort that ultimately impoverishes both the people and the state.

The economist Peter Schiff lambastes the political/ economic liberals of both parties. He sees this as a result of the ignorance of basic econometrics and the pandering for votes by promising the "free lunch." He goes after Bush and Obama, RINOs and Democrats - all of whom, in the aggregate, are going to bring us economic and political devastation.

Yes but so long as that socialist political structure enriches those who “control” the state, everything is hunky dory in DC!!

That is the bill's entire point! Its authors want socialism.

I believe rather than socialism it is leading to a Russian style of Communism. Look carefully at the ruling party. Obama is an empty head fool with the power of signing anything into law. Both the Senate and House are corrupt power hungry nitwits who will exercise anything to enrich their voter base. (Effective way to use the Constitution) The courts are mostly a joke. The Supreme Court will be raped. We are here, folks. Example, the ramrod of the stimulus bill.

Command economies do not, however, impoverish those who administer them, thus the motive.

We'll soon be able to pick out Obama's people on the street. They'll be just like Magabe's henchmen, driving new trucks loaded with Zimbabwe bucks to go spend at the local bakery on a loaf of bread...

Thus the adage, Republics are not destroyed from the outside, until they destroy themselves from within.

"That is the bill's entire point! Its authors want socialism."

Except that socialism cannot survive without a healthy Capitalist marketplace generating the revenues socialism needs to spend.

So in the end we wind up with a Stalinist type of soviet czar, were everyone works for the state, which in turn is the marketing board for everything the nation produces, which isn't much and of poor quality and quantity, because there is no incentive for anyone to work, and too many sharing the same job with nothing to do but drink home brew.

Right - in DC they’re enjoying their ride on the U.S.S. Titanic. And Captain Obama yells, “full speed ahead!”

'Command economies do not, however, impoverish those who administer them, thus the motive.'

Isn't it funny that these leftwing moonbats continuously cry that "too few share in the wealth, it needs to be spread out to the many", and then when they wind up in control of the state, it ends up with even fewer sharing the wealth?

Exactly right. And what burns my hide is that Obama clearly had a far-left socialist agenda for all of his brief and undistinguished political career. I guess we deserve what we elect.

That option is beginning to sound good. Which states would be candidates for such a movement (I know NJ isn’t one) and how do they go about it? Would it be done at the ballot box?

I think so. To quote the title of Theodore Dalrymple’s latest book, “Not With a Bang, But a Whimper. The Politics and Culture of Decline.”

Right on. This is more than mere socialism. There is a coordinated attempt to deprive us of our civil liberties as well. PC, the rigging of the electoral process, the birth certificate issue, the census, “(Un)Fairness Doctrine”, the “civilian security force” . . . this isn’t just about economics or cradle-to-grave. It’s repression of our most fundamental liberties.
