I believe it won't be long before the bill, recently introduced, will be ramrodded through and signed. That makes all “unregistered” gun ownership a Felony.

If you do not promptly declare all “unregistered” guns, you will become a criminal. After that, you will pay an upfront annual “tax” per gun, on all the guns you own.

You will also be required to qualify for a Federal License to own and possess firearms, pass mental tests, your medical records will be evaluated, and no license will be issued until you meet the Federal standards for owning firearms.

The annual licensing fee will also be quite high as will the tax on all ammunition and future firearm purchases. Some say as high as 400% the cost of the firearm.)

And this Attorney General has been given the power to impose these “Regulations” without Congressional approval from what I understand.

The NRA didn’t want Levy to continue because we would have lost due to the number of antiRights Justices at the time.

The goa was the only gun group that asked the court to take the narrow view so we would be faced with 20,000 court cases getting rid of 20,000 gun laws. Thanks for nothing, goa.

The NRA and the SAF filed five lawsuits immediately after Heller. San Francisco, Morton Grove, Winnetka and Wilmette no longer have gun bans. Thanks for nothing, goa.

The Katrina victims needed a lawsuit and the SAF and the NRA were there. Thanks for nothing, goa.

The goa has never accomplished a single thing in their existance and the member seem to be ok with that. Thanks for nothing, goa members.

NO goa MEMBER HAS EVER BEEN ABLE TO TELL ME WHAT THE goa HAS EVER ACCOMPLISHED ON THEIR OWN.

This anti NRA movement started with a website supported by the goa. It’s founding member was thrown in jail for having an unregistered gun in an antigun state. The irony here is the NRA has legal assistance. The goa doesn’t.

Anyone thinking the NRA doesn’t do anything doesn’t pay attention to this website.

If you’re a member of the goa, ask them what they have ever done on their own and prove me wrong.

Yeah, that's what I want... "Sunny Day" NRA warriors! We could go at this all day long...

The NRA and the SAF filed five lawsuits immediately after Heller.

Yes of course they did, notice your key words... AFTER Heller was won, what a bunch of "fair weather" wussies

What they are saying about Gun Owners of America @ http://gunowners.org/

"Let me reiterate, once more, my deep appreciation for the tremendous job being done by Gun Owners of America in the battle to defend America's right to keep and bear arms. There is no question that without GOA, American gun rights would be in even greater peril today." -Jesse Helms U.S. Senator, North Carolina

"I hope you will work with Gun Owners of America to make sure that your voice is heard in Washington." -Lamar Smith U.S. Congressman, Texas

"Gun Owners of America is the pit bull of the Second Amendment. They are relentless and never give any ground whatsoever to the gun grabbers." -John Hostettler U.S. Congressman, Indiana

"It's been a long time since someone has been on the side of those who believe in the right to own a gun. I support GOA and urge all gun owners to join in their efforts." -John Milius Producer, Movie "Red Dawn"

"I commend GOA members for their staunch support of the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens." -Virgil Goode U.S. Congressman, Virginia

"The GOA's e-mail and fax grassroots network has become extremely effective. GOA was the most important organization behind the failure in the last two Congresses of Senator Orrin Hatch's [gun control] bill to federalize much of the juvenile justice system." -Dave Kopel National Review online

"GOA is the only no-compromise gun lobby in Washington." -Ron Paul U.S. Congressman, Texas

"Be a real American Warrior for gun rights & freedom. Join GOA & sign up as many members as you can." -Ted Nugent Rock star

"Gun Owners of America is considered the most aggressive pro-gun lobbying organization." -Roll Call the newspaper of record on Capitol Hill

The goa has never done a single thing on their own. Prove me wrong by explaining just what they have ever accomplished on their own in their entire history.

Bwaaaa...You still harping on that one! geez man, do you know how pitiful your argument sounds? If you spent as much time trying to straighten out the NRA leaderships direction as you do crying about who is taking the lead or who spending the most money and resources, then you and other NRA members might be able to start making an impact on CURRENT events instead of whining about the GOA beating the crap out of the NRA.

With the GOA, I've been involved in every battle you have mentioned so far... from Katrina and Heller to the current state and local 2A fights.. who frigging cares about who takes the lead in these battles as long as they are happening... The NRA has a much larger budget and membership (for now), so they can and should take the lead. The GOA is more of a grassroots activist type group, but we are all working towards the same end.

With people like you playing politics with the 2A battles... we are gonna lose, so stop playing sides and fight for the same result!

So you admit the goa has never done a single thing in their entire existance. They did nothing for the Katrina victims and nothing for Heller except screw the gunowners by asking for a narrow view.

It’s talk and BS with you. I want results like the NRA has with the end of the handgun bans in Morton Grove, San Francisco, Winnetka and Wilmette. Thank you, NRA.

Thanks for nothing, goa.

Bwaaaa... Read my last post again and keep crying... the rest of us have a fight to win... I’m actually glad we had this “discussion” as many people drop by to read such posts, and they can now see why the NRA has been losing membership...

It’s talk and BS with you.

In the past I've found that when someone starts getting into personal attacks, they are usually on the losing end of an argument.

Tell you what Shooter 2.5, I thought about this discussion last night, Here’s how to take care of your misconceptions about the GOA. I like to give the benefit of a doubt to people... you and I have talked about items in the past mainly weapons and reloading and I believe you’re a reasonable guy.

BUT I think you didn’t actually read a damn word of my previous posts and you’re either listening to people who don’t know squat about the GOA or you’ve just been reading a bunch of NRA propaganda crap whining about the GOA’s actions.

I happen to be a Life Member of the GOA, and as I said before, I was a member of the NRA through-out my military career (attaining a NRA rating of expert in Highpower rifle by the way). Although I dropped my NRA membership many years ago I still get their email alerts, as a matter of fact I get 2A alerts from MANY different groups and organizations.

So here’s my challenge to you and any other NRA members out there, you don’t have to join the GOA to get on their email action list, so sign up for the alerts... give it maybe six months (geez, with the Obama admin six weeks will probably suffice) and we can meet back here and discuss what the GOA does compared to the NRA!

If you do this honestly, I think you will find the both groups are comparable, although as I said before, the two groups have slightly differing missions... NRA=Corporate based Activism vs GOA=Grassroots based Activism).

Doing this won’t cost any of you a dime and IMHO you guys won’t look like idiots trying to compare the NRA to the GOA in the future.

We are in fight this together... No we MUST be in this fight together, or WE WILL ALL LOSE!

So any takers out there?

I already get their alerts for some reason.

I have also asked Freepers for the last five years since that website started attacking the NRA just what the goa has ever done. So far no goa member has ever answered the question what the goa has ever accomplished on their own.

I have asked what the goa has ever done when they started their so-called no compromise motto. So far, no goa member has ever answered what the goa has ever accomplished on their own.

I have asked goa members while they attack the NRA just what the goa has ever done on their own. No answer.

I asked you. No answer.

For a NRA member to be asked what the NRA has ever done just has to read a few threads right here on Free Republic. The NRA filed a lawsuit against Morton Grove and four other communities. Morton Grove was the first in the nation to have a handgun ban.

Because of the NRA lawsuit, Morton Grove no longer has a handgun ban.

I asked you a simple question.

What has the goa ever done in their entire existance for gunowners. You never answered that question.

I’ll answer it. Nothing. For all the money the members give to the goa. The goa has never filed a lawsuit to end a gun ban.

They didn’t do anything for the Katrina victims.

They never did a thing to file a lawsuit against employees firing employees.

They don’t lift a finger to end antigun legislation.

Even the Second Amendment Foundation has a better track record than the goa.

Even the smallest group such as the Second Amendment Sisters have classes to teach women shooters to defend themselves. The goa does nothing.

I asked you want the goa has ever done. The lack of an answer clearly shows the goa takes your money and does nothing.

goa = AWOL

Now you are again being completely untruthful... that would mean you are lying.. you know it and I know it now, guess my first impression of you was wrong.

You do not know what you are talking about, and I doubt you get such alerts from the GOA as you claim (give me the last 4-5, or I’ll make it easy for you how about the last one issued a few days ago...).

Pretty much every piece of legislation you just mentioned was an action alert sent to and acted on by GOA members...

So again keep drinking the NRA Kool-aid.

The emails are forwarded from a member in Montana to me.

And I know the goa still has never accomplished a thing in their entire existence because YOU still can’t post a single thing.

The emails are forwarded from a member in Montana to me.

Oh Yes, of course they are... I expected as much... and you continue the dance...

Sorry for the earlier outburst, when dealing with slow or uninformed posters, I too can sometimes get carried away.

I went through the posts again and noted that you keep ignoring or mis-representing statements... as usual. But I will write more slowly now so you can keep up... Ready?

Although I expected a fellow Texan to be able to carry on a cohesive discussion, I'll put it in separate sentences so you can easily follow...

The NRA and the GOA are two different TYPES of Second Amendment Groups... Are you keeping up, OK now, here is the second part...

The NRA is a CORPORATE Activist Group... and the GOA is a GRASSROOTS Activist Group... are you still following me? if not I can write a little slower...

Now to answer your question... Again I'll do it sloooowly for you... as you know or probably not know... you can not PROVE a negative, now that's a big word but try to keep up...

Since the GOA's main job is getting its members (and other 2A activists) to email or write their representatives to battle specific Anti-Second Amendment Laws or Bills, it is difficult to gauge the groups impact on legislation, since most are defeated by not only the GOA's actions but also many other groups fighting the same legislation.

But as you read from the previous post listing the Senators, Representatives and other activists, the GOA is making a a huge impact, albeit in a different way from the NRA.

Now hopefully I typed slow enough for you to keep up, but if not just keep re-reading the posts and it might come to you... although I'm not holding my breath! because once a partisan always a partisan.

Isn't the NRA's kool-aid just delicious... oops another big word... it means yummy!?

Don't know ya'll dropped back by the thread but especially if you are a GOA member, supporter or just a 2A activist you might want to re-read the exchange... this is the type of stuff that needs to stop if we are to win the upcoming battles.

For future reference I have not only bookmarked the thread but also made a back up copy as I hate partisan hacks that throw around unsubstantiated comments and remarks... people putting out these types of comments need to be called out on 'em!

We need all hands in the upcoming battles, so either we stand together on the 2A or it falls and as a result our Republic falls.

And again I urge everyone to join not only the GOA and NRA but also their State/Local Gun Rights Group!

I was deliberately used to buy a .22 derringer (Cop killer bullets), a .38 (Saturday Night Special), and a .410 with a pistol grip (Street Sweeper) in in order to create a “Terroristic” aura in 1993 and lo and behold, did HI Judge Komo thusly throw me into MCCC without any trial, just a Mitimus, on this supposedly “Dangerousness” - Until I would “CONFESS” to having known, and worked under, while in US Army M.I., CIA (Covert) Operations Director GHW Bush. Then he ordered me, even after I’d broken and agreed to talk to a Tripler AMC shrink, to be forcibly interrogated by 3 HI Democrat Socialist shrinks. Then he ordered me into a 15-year program of an “Out-patient Treatment Program” which has trashed my life, finances & family since. Think what’s going on now with ()bamamania is but a harbinger of the future, or what? I’m just lucky they haven’t taken me out back & shot me in the back of the head!
