Some reporters were unhappy with their treatment at President Obamas news conference Monday. Many correspondents from major outlets who normally have front row seats did not. A reporter from the liberal Huffington Post and liberal radio host Ed Schultz were on the front row. Two reporters from African-American media were also seated up front, but neither was called on.
Hazel Edney of the National Newspaper Publishers Association says, "We were nothing more than window dressing."
Tiffany Cross of Black Entertainment Television said "I really don't know why Im up here."
Former correspondent Helen Thomas who lost her front row perch when she became a columnist was back in first class and was one of only 13 reporters allowed to ask a question.
President Obama said during the session that the stimulus contained "not a single pet project. Not a single earmark."
Calvin Woodward of the Associated Press concedes that is technically true but writes "some of the projects bear the prime characteristics of pork tailored to benefit specific interests or to have thinly disguised links to local projects."
He cites $2 billion for hybrid car batteries and $10 million for urban canals... not to mention $198 million for Filipino veterans two-thirds of whom live outside the U.S.

You know, you do not have to be so obsessive about ALL rules. :-)
Truly -- you don't want to know.
I know I am just fooling around lol
Looks like we're back to the good old days of clintonoid parsing of every phrase and sentence.
What Obama means, of course, is that there's not a single pet project or earmark. There are thousands of them.
I presume there is something "diplomatic" about not admitting that Israel is a nuclear power, although it seems rather pointless given what everybody knows.
Rearranging deck chairs ping.
Damn, that’s ugly. Beauty is only skin deep, but that’s ugly to the bone.
;0)
Funny how ACORN seems to be flying under the radar when wasteful spending is discussed with respect to this bill. I only get to listen to Rush during my lunch breaks, has he made any mention of the 4 billion going to ACORN?
BroomHilda rides again! Somebody should show the Islamic martyrs just what type of virgin awaits them.
** one of only 13 reporters allowed to ask a question.**
Only softball questions are allowed now, Mr. Wim, I mean, President?
Now you have done it. You had to ask about her looks, didn’t ya. Could leave it alone. I am crossing you off my list of friends. Time to go get the Tums.
LOL and shutting my eyes.
I wondered why so many of the reporters in front looked so young and unfamiliar. Some of them looked like kids.
Ed Schultz Falsely Credits Medical Research ‘Change’ to Obama
Say, how ‘bout the news of President Obama lifting the ban on embryonic stem cell research imposed by his predecessor?
What, you haven’t heard? With good reason. Former president Bush did not impose this, making it all but impossible for Obama to reverse it.
Obama Seats Failed Far Left Radio Host Ed Schultz in Front Row at Press Conference
Obama put the two Far Left wackadoodles in the front row last night:
