Russia Rattles Sabers in Obama's Direction

Russia may face a grim economic downturn but one would scarcely think so to judge by the sound of sabre-rattling emerging from the Kremlin. Unless, of course, it is intended as a domestic distraction from the gathering gloom.

The double-act of Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin has come up with a series of security initiatives that seem designed to provoke, or at least irritate, the new administration in Washington. Without even waiting to hear how President Barack Obama intends to conduct his relations with Moscow – something that Joe Biden, his vice-president, may well address on Saturday at the annual Munich Security Conference – the Russian leaders have thrown down the gauntlet.

...

“In Russia there has never been any euphoria about Obama as there has been in the rest of Europe,” she says. “Russia is still very mistrustful of the US, and Putin profoundly so.

“But there is an overwhelming view in Moscow now that the Americans are in decline and will be forced to negotiate with Russia from a position of weakness. They seem to expect all the concessions to come from Obama. It is very unrealistic.”

The response from Washington has been muted. Russia is simply not a high priority for the new president.

Man. Poor BO can’t catch a break. Now Putin thinks he’s an empty suit? Looks like he is going to have to read to kids again. Wagyu steak anyone?

Those Russkies NEED to be very, very, careful. Obama will hold a presser, with pre- approved questions, and stamp his feet and have a hissy fit!

Obama does it better tha Iran’s Ahminajihad.

And when Obama gets in a corner internationally ( only a matter of time), he will run to our US military to extricate himself, and send thousands of US soldiers to their deaths under restrictive rules of engagement, and no tanks in support, just like Clinton did in Somalia.

I bet that you will soon see and exodus out of the US Armed Forces. They see the wrtting on the wall. That in itself will be a huge tragedy and a profound travesty. Now I understand why some Dems have been mumbling about the draft. Its quite clear now where things will go, compulsive military service, avoidable by serving with ACORN national spy network instead.

This is all just too, too painful.

Gotta give Ex-KGB Putin kudos for spotting a weakling in a flash. The Middle East get the same brownie points as well.

Oh I don't know... Johnny and Janie Liberal with their degrees in Post-Modern Basket Weaving may decide to join up rather than flip burgers.

You may be right about that.

But I have a feeling that Johnny and Janie will be doing national service with ACORN, Obamas neighborhood spy agency, which will have cadres in every US neigborhood, whistle blowing on things soon to be illegal such as "hate speech" and " gun ownership."

This seems where we are headed, once the Porkulus bill pumps billions into ACORN.

No military spending whatsoever in Porkulus.

Thats a sign.
