You Report Click-2-Listen Buzz up!The al-Nashiri trial was the last one still ongoing Thursday night because Col. James L. Pohl, the chief judge of the Guantanamo Bay War Crimes court, refused to abide by the executive orders.
Peter Gadiel, whose son died in the Sept. 11 attacks and who runs 9/11 Families for a Secure America, will attend the Friday meeting. He said he expected about 30 family members of victims to be there.
He said if Mr. Obama does close the detention facility and have trials in U.S. courts, some terrorists will go free and, he predicted, take part in more terrorist plots.
"When they commit terrorist acts, the blood of the victims will be on his hands," Mr. Gadiel said of Mr. Obama

No surprise. What will be the expected cash settlement and apology letter? Anything the size we will be giving Iran?
Military families should rise up and rebel against this horrible decision. Perhaps a few hundred thousand marching in front of the White House and the Justice Dept. would be something the msm couldn’t cover up.
If Bush had done something like this, the DBM would have been trotting out angry and distraught family members 24 seven.
WE HAVE TO START A PETITION. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. WE CAN NOT LET THIS GO. I AM STARTING BY RESIGNING MY OFFICER COMMISSION IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR. I AM ALSO GOING TO PETITION THE CLOSING OF GITMO AND THIS ACT. MTF.
Long past that time.
The U.S. government has dropped charges for now against the Saudi man it accuses of masterminding the 2000 suicide bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 American sailors as the ship sat at the dock in Yemen.
Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said Susan Crawford, the convening authority for the military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay, made the decision to withdraw charges against Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri.
However, Mr. Morrell said Thursday night that the dismissal was made “without prejudice,” meaning the U.S. government may continue to prosecute him at a later date.
“Should the Obama administration choose to restart the administration’s process or choose an alternative means to adjudicate his case, they have that option,” Mr. Morrell said.
Mr. Morrell said al-Nashiri will not be set free, in the U.S. or elsewhere, any time soon. For now, he and 243 other detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba will be staying put as a special Cabinet-level review team determines whether to charge the inmates in federal court, send them to foreign courts, release them, or deal with them through some other process.
The White House didn’t return messages seeking comment, and President Obama didn’t respond to a question a reporter called to him about dismissing the charges as he left the press cabin aboard Air Force One on Thursday night.
Mr. Gadiel and all of the families of these fallen sailors:
We stand behind you, regardless of what the worthless puke in the Oval Office does.
Your sons and daughters did not give their lives in vain.
Obama has to be the most insensitive, most ignorant man in America right now—and that’s the best of what I can call him.
"I kissed a terrorist (dripping with American blood). And I liked it."
Seems Obama thinks we are supposed to feel guilty about the fact Al-Nashiri, a mass murdering psychopath, was water-boarded.
Looks like Hussein’s true allegiance is surfacing. People should have paid attention in the Primaries.
Obambam should just offer these guys cabinet positions and be done with it.
I am so sad for our country...we really are screwed.
Praise be to Allah!
The victims of terrorism should do things the American way and go to court to get an injunction to stop the closing of Gitmo, and to order the trial of the terrorists.
I sure do hope none of these parents/family members voted for Ochumpa. I am sure he will remind them of their SGLI payment and then call it a day.
At a minimum, maybe this will be an ‘OJ Redeux’ and the families will get their day in court, in their civil suit?
USS Cole families civil suit against Sudan begins

[JURIST] Testimony began Tuesday in the trial of a civil suit [JURIST report] brought against Sudan [JURIST news archive] by families of US military personnel killed in the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole [Wikipedia backgrounder; US DOD inquiry report; JURIST news archive]. The families say Sudan has provided material support to al Qaeda since 1991, without which the attack that killed the US personnel would not have been possible. The 59 family members are seeking $105 million in damages. US District Judge Robert Doumar of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia [official website] has nonetheless indicated that the federal Death on the High Seas Act [text] will likely apply, limiting the maximum damages the families could receive to $35 million.
Last month, Doumar denied a motion by Sudan to dismiss the suit [JURIST report] based on the complaint’s failure to connect Sudan with al Qaeda. An earlier motion to dismiss because the statutory limitations had passed was also dismissed. During the trial phase, the plaintiffs will try to prove that Sudan provided the terrorists with explosives, locations for training camps, and the cover of diplomatic pouches to transport materials. They will also allege that Sudan’s New York consulate facilitated al Qaeda’s 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center [ADL backgrounder]. Because the United States has listed Sudan as a sponsor of terrorism since 1993, Sudan cannot claim sovereign immunity.
