Shortage of doctors? Can this be caused by anything other than government interference in Japan’s health care industry?

Actually, their shortage is from not having babies. Their population is in a death spiral... too many old people, no young people.

We'll be facing the same problem soon.

We already have the same problem here. We have a shortage of neurosurgeons and orthopedists willing to take trauma call. Often patients are flighted to a facility out of their area to obtain the treatment they need. This is especially common with children as more and more neuro and ortho specialists don’t have malpractice coverage to treat pediatric cases.

Yep, that’s sure one solution to “overpopulation”.
Also, ever note how people whining about “overpopulation” seem to be the anti-war, anti-death-penalty types? C’mon, is there anything wrong with wanting consistency?
