Frail nun in habit mugged by hoodie just yards from her convent By LUKE SALKELD 03rd February 2009
Sister Lorna was on her way to a church service when her handbag was stolen
An elderly nun dressed in her full habit was mugged in broad daylight.
Sister Lorna, 72, was just yards from the door of her convent when a thief ran up behind her and grabbed her handbag.
The mugger got away with only an umbrella and a bus timetable because his victim had hidden her purse containing £12 for a church collection in her habit.
But the incident has left Sister Lorna, who works in criminal rehabilitation, severely shaken.
She said: 'I was shocked. I am 72 years old and I can't walk very fast any more. I was frightened he might come back.
'I've been here nearly 40 years and cannot remember anything like this happening to a nun.

It's resentment, daemon envy. Being an associate of the Devil isn't as powerful as being in with the Prime Mover.
So true, NYer. Back in the late 1980's, my uncle who's a priest was mugged in the driveway to his brother's house. He was wearing his collar and black suit, clearly indicating that he was a priest. The perp was never caught, but he was probably looking for drug money.
I don’t believe anything that comes from the brit tabloids anymore.
