Insanity, you only get this type of logic from a bureaucrat. (Or a Democrat)

" ...In 1996, the Firearms Technology Branch of the federal agency determined that "a 14-inch long shoestring with a loop at each end" when attached to a rifle "caused the weapon to fire repeatedly until finger pressure was released from the string."

"Because this item was designed and intended to convert a semiautomatic rifle into a machine gun, FTB determined that it was a machine gun…," the agency confirmed in a 2004 letter ...
"

Either we go shoeless to the range, or have a machine gun permit?

Bite me Feds!

So many targets ... so little time.

It's only going to get worse, now that the anti-gun CONTROL freaks are in charge again.

The JBT's have carte blanche to do whatever the hell they want, at least, until there is resistance from fed-up citizens.

Funny, it did’nt mention that little trick in the book “Converting a Semi Automatic Ruger Mini-14 to Fully Automatic” I saw at the Gunshow last month...

Unlike the grinning ape from Vermont (Patrick Leahy) who infamously said he 'loved his government,' I have decided I hate mine..

Gulags on the horizon.

When shoe laces are outlawed only outlaws will have...

Actually I've taken to wearing loafers (no tassels, I draw the line at tassels) because I travel a lot and shoe laces are a hassle when you have to take your shoes off at the airport. I'm not sure the entire war on terror isn't being coordinated by the loafer industry. Now this.

Does the BATFE have an Agent Kafka on staff?

No Gulag for me.

Tell the “whimp” to bring it own.

CW2 will cap his zeal.

The book banning will come, as will the gun show ban.

BTW ... That "little trick" takes a bit of doing.

I have several booklets, with scaled drawings, on converting the Mini, and the AK47. That "trick" only allows full auto fire.

Completely useless for me, as the cost of ammo is sky high and rising.

Besides, we will get the selective automatics & ammo from the local police, if & when the bottom falls out.

No doubt the shrink test screens anyone out who doesn't fit his MO.

Gulags on the horizon.

You can't have functioning socialism without a gulag.

Take socialized medicine as just one example. You have to have a mechanism in place to punish physicians who grant patients treatment in excess of what the state approves - unless of course the patient is very wealthy or politically well connected.

Socialism is very vulnerable to what in game theory is called the free rider dilemma - if one person doesn't have change and jumps the subway turn style, no problem; if everyone does the subway goes broke. In fact, according to Solzhenitsyn this is why Lenin created the Soviet gulag system in the first place - to punish workers and peasants who did not produce according to their full abilities.

Without a well enforced gulag system socialism is a downward spiral. With a gulag socialism leads to a police state - the mechanisms for which, including the BATFE, we already have in place.

All shoestrings must be micro stamped with a unique serial number.

And this is from a BATFE as it was under George W. Bush and his various Attorneys General. What will it be like under Eric Holder??
