I’ve been fascinated by Hughes since I was a kid. I remember reading somewhere that he once wrote a letter to Nixon offering to pay for relocation of nuclear bomb testing in the Nevada desert because the tests shook the hotel he was living in. Nixon refused,Hughes moved to Bermuda.
RE Hughes: Screwball (and dead) or not, I may be in love: He told the senate,
“Let’s get one thing straight: I don’t work for you. You work for me.”
Wouldn’t it be fun to have that much money! It’s too bad that Hughes lost his mind: That would put a damper on things.
