GULFPORT Jessica LeBlanc said she went to work Thursday with a butcher knife and wished she had had it with her the day before.
LeBlanc, 22, said she is the victim of an alleged kidnapping Wednesday at a law firm on 21st Avenue. LeBlanc said she stabbed her assailant in the back with scissors and stabbed him under the left eye.
I threw the scissors at him as he ran out the door, LeBlanc said. If I hadnt defended myself, I could be dead or raped.
Police said Paul William Boykin, a fugitive wanted in St. Paul, Minn., is the man accused of threatening her with bodily harm and holding her against her will.
Its the response of concerned citizens that helped our officers find him so quickly, said Deputy Police Chief Alfred Sexton. Our officers began questioning businesses around the area and thats how we were able to locate him on 22nd Street.
Boykin, 27, is from Gretna, La. (New Orleans area)
LeBlanc said she was alone at work in Doyle Coats law office when a man came in looking for an attorney. The man asked to use the bathroom and then asked her to help fix the toilet.
I wouldnt go back there, LeBlanc said. I texted my husband at 3:16 and said it didnt feel right. I was scared.

Someone needs to help this young lady buy a gun and teach her how to use it. She is already good at identifying targets.
Is she getting into trouble admitting the knife? I hope not. There have been more and more stories lately (or so it seems) of dirtbags being sent to a dirtnap. I suspect that this is normal throughout history, and that the unarmed populace of the last 30 years or so is the abberation. Stay armed. It is penicillin to criminal aggression.
she looks like a nice girl.
a new conservative, ring the bell!
“...Is she getting into trouble admitting the knife?...”
After what happened to her, she could have nuclear weapons and the folks here would not care.
I wonder how her husband reacted when he got that message.
Black on white crime, move along, doesn’t matter...
You are an idiot and I don’t believe you are real. I bet you are a far left liberal mole. Get lost!
“Paul William Boykin, a fugitive wanted in St. Paul, Minn.”
I suspect a jury in Missippi is about like one here in Texas.
Looks like Paul William Boykin is in deep trouble. And I think he will be wishing he was back in Minnesota.
“LeBlanc said the man wrote a note to her boss, signed his name as Jeff Davis . . . “
Snicker.
Hey, that is just the way they do things down in the Chocolate City area. Why didn’t she just enjoy his (Paul William Boykin’s) attention and then go on Oprah and confess? (please excuse sarcasm)
Not so fast! I can see Jesse Jack@$$ down there now.
Reporter: “Don’t you feel sorry for this victim, this young lady?”
Jesse: “Victim? It is OBVIOUS that she instigated the entire situation so that she could attack this poor, innocent man with her knife! She should be in jail!” /sarc off
Love It!! (sending it to hubby...just to ‘remind’ him...lol)
Hey Islander7, I am the girl that was the victim. I am very much aware on how to use a gun and how to defend myself. Thank you for addressing this matter. However, I am not sure when this will happen to me again, but I will be more prepared next time. THANK YOU!
