We could have a global fairness tax on all our gas!

Think about it. We could reduce our carbon footprint while raising money to send to third world dictators, I mean people, in need of help. We are only rich because of our “exploitation” of the third world and environment.

Juarez is a cesspool. I used to go over there in the 70’s up to the early 90’s. Not anymore. It's a shame, I can remember taking my parents to a nice restaurant, we had live music, the prices were good and it was a happy atmosphere. Too bad now!

Too bad Mexico has become a place of drug lords, beheadings and a little Africa. Where is Mexican respect for Mexico?

In the late 1950s my Dad was buildings missile bases and other Hush-Hush stuff for Uncle Sam while we lived in El Paso. I recall the many times we went over into Juarez to eat out and then go to my parent's favorite night club called La Cucaracha.

It was all an adventure to me complete with a floor show, all the men were in tuxedos, ladies in dressy dos and was like a visit to "Rat Pack Days in Vegas" in my then 12 year old memory.

Those were great memories and I hate to think of what Juarez has come to be nowadays.

It was my junior year in high school when I took a Spanish class... that I came to find out 'La Cucaracha' translated to 'The Cockroach.'

For the third time this week I tried to sneak into Mexico in search of freedom. Damn Mexican imagracion officials caught me and sent me on a flight back to Newark, NJ again.

Damn them!

I was stationed near El Paso for a few years and never had any incentive to cross the border. I suspect your worries about what it has become considering when you looked across the border it looked like a third world country...

I grew up in El Paso Texas. Sits right on the Mexican border.

Juarez is a sad, sad, place to be. Juarez has the mega rich (I know because they bussed their rich kids to private schools around El Paso.

But it of course has the mega poor. don't need to explain the poor, I am sure the images you are getting are correct. Just think Calcutta but with a mexican accent.

In juarez there have been many, many unsolved crimes involving the murder of young women. They are found dead in the desert. The murders are really not investigated or solved. No one cares.

El Paso can be nice. Ft. Bliss, a big army base, is there. Best steak I every had in my life was in a restaurant just outside of El Paso in Fabens.

The cowboy, old west history there is unbeatable. If you are in to cowboys and indians and guns it is your place.
Plus it is the boot capital of the world. Sooo many beautiful boots.

I am planning a trip this summer to El Paso just to get a new pair of boots and to eat a really good steak. And if I have time, visit my sister.

I teach at one of those Private High Schools and the Mega rich Kids come over. I think more of them do these days because of the violence. Cattleman’s in Fabens, I was there not too long ago. Great Steaks!

"Obama came across as honest and willing to do what he promised," Sagarnaga said. "I hope his administration will be mindful of the labor Mexican immigrants have invested in the United States, and sees to it that people of Mexico are treated fairly and with respect."

Treating the people of Mexico fairly and with respect is certainly due. Treating Mexicans who break the law to get government handouts and freebies is NOT due. I'd welcome Mexican immigrants who'd play by the rules. I detest illegal aliens who come here for the social welfare freebies and whose anchor babies don't deserve citizenship.

Immigrants, Si !

Illegal Aliens and their Anchor Babies, Non !

Hope you understand the difference, amigo.
