Pessimism makes you depressed and dependent. It makes a good Democrat mindset.

Hope springs eternal, and when this fool’s promises shatter against hard reality, America will seek another Reagan.

Within a very few days of 9/11/2001 I heard liberal callers to the several talk radio programs I listen to say that they refuse to show the Flag because it is "too Republican."

Emotional illness.. liberals got emotional illness.

It cannot be a mental (of or related to the mind) illness.

That explains it! Rev. Lowery was just trying to quote President Reagan.

Lowery’s “prayer” was so off the wall, I found it impossible to be offended by it. It was like watching a bit from a rerun of “Flip Wilson” or “Laugh In.”

I do not go to Starbucks! I haven’t been one in years. I roast my own beans and brew my own coffee. I find no reason to pay my hard earned money for their “dirty water”.

Straybuck’s Reaganized your cup? Now THAT is a real sign! :)

I wish you were not but you are so right about post-Reagan America. The spectacle we witnessed yesterday was at best a far and sad cry from the dignity, poise, taste and class of President and Mrs. Reagan.

President Reagan did not lead us, he represented us. He was a reflection of our values as a Nation and of us as a People. A mirror. A shining mirror.

He did not stand before us, he stood among us, a humble giant among men.

God rest and keep him.

I think McDonald’s has better coffee, and also has fewer staff behind the counter with piercings that make them look like fishing lures.

The question of the Flag.. the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) has no interest in discourse.

The Party is controlled by 1960s New Left radical street rabble and their ideological issue. It's been modified a little by the "Third Way," I believe.

Their America -- and I remember them saying it, including Hillary and President Obama -- is the future America. True "patriotism" is their criticism because only they want to make America "better."

I totally agree that discourse is unless and the only option we have is humor.. laugh at the poor bastards.

Oh how far our American leadership has fallen.

I agree with that statement, but ... it doesn't fully express the present circumstances. Perhaps mere words cannot. Washington DC is filled to bursting with small people. They strut in groups, they trot forward when cameras arrive, they tug the knots straight on their dark red power neckties. They pronounce. They pontificate. They are wisdom. Proof of their wisdom lies bound together with their election. Were they not wise and capable, they would not have been elected. They can now do all things. They know and understand. They are tall and mighty, like the Washington Monument.

But from a distance, with perspective, others see their stature. Small men and women, with cramped minds and crabbed ways of thought.

Those we call democrats plot evil. They have discovered that the Constitution says what they tell us it says. These have learned that, in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Those we call republicans, with few exceptions, stupidly watch. Some are happy to help with the evil.

In all cases, they have come to believe their own deceptive words.
