Obama will go down in history as being the first president to screw up a simple oath. Black or otherwise.

[But the seas are receding and a star may be rising in the East]

It's just a "Shooting Star" devolve. It appears in flaming 'glory', then swiftly burns itself out. We shall see.

Nope — watch it again. Roberts clearly said the words in the wrong order ...

Roberts said — “that I will execute the Office of President of the United States faithfully” ... when he SHOULD have said — “that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States”

Roberts put the word “faithfully” in the wrong place. It was at that point that Obama stopped and looked puzzled.

According to Brit Hume, Chief Justice John Roberts messed up, and when Obama rushed to continue the oath, he messed up too. Brit was laughing that Roberts didn't have a 'Miranda Card", that would have given him something to read from.

That One is the President. We shouldn't waste time trying to find some way to make him not so, we just need to start building up the conservative wing of the Republican party so that we'll have some good candidates from which to choose for Congress in 2010, to try to regain a majority, and for President in 2012.

Perhaps — but then so will Chief Justice Roberts.

Roberts flubbed it first

If you listen to it again, you'll notice that BHO flubbed first when he interrupted Roberts in mid phrase, got a few words in, stopped, and then had to back up and restart it from the beginning. That seemed to throw Roberts off his concentration, because you can hear him hesitating for awhile before continuing on with the next phrase, and even hesitating a tiny bit within that next phrase. And of course, he put the adverb at the end of the phrase instead of at the front, as the Constitution has it.

What I found interesting today is to hear some grammar police on FR point out that in actuality the Constitution used bad grammar in putting "faithfully" at the start of the phrase, and that Roberts' mistake in moving it to the end was actually the grammatically correct way to say it!

I found the article and copy and pasted the headline and link about her dress.

Bummer. Looks like i didn't do my homework. But, then again.... neither did The One! Either way, he's a goof.

>> If you listen to it again, you’ll notice that BHO flubbed first when he interrupted Roberts in mid phrase.

That is true.

They were wrong. The modifier “faithfully” describes the execution, and thus should attach to the word “execute” as written. Throwing a modifier in at the end of a sentence is inelegant — particularly when it modifies/describes a word that appeared 9-words earlier.

Fox News replayed the swearing-in moment when President Obama and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. each bobbled the words to the constitutional oath...CNN newsreaders were pointing out this morning that the ceremonies were running a bit behind time, but it didn't matter because taking the oath wasn't what made Obama president - the Constitution states that one becomes president precisely at noon on January 20th - I was pleased to hear that in this case at least the Constitution really did matter...

And Roberts messed up because he knows in reality Obama is not qualified to become president - his sense of duty was trying subconsciously to make him do what he knew was right and stop the whole sham - Freud said there are no accidents.....

How well can 300,000,000 live off of the land on this continent today? Surely you're not trying .................

Man, you're never going to make it into Valhalla with that attitude.
Listen, I'm as depressed as can be after the unending crap of today, but the fight in me is still alive and well.

Shoot, I thought you meant a transcript of his speech today and went and found that. Don’t know about him giving the oath but am sure it will be on YouTube and elsewhere.

Let me be the first to predict it: At this moment, the MSM’s technology experts are hard at work on modifying today’s video, using a bit of CGI at critical moments, to produce a flub-free version.

So they go into a back room and do it again, with the written oath in front of them.

I wouldn’t waste time on this guys.

Thank you devolve. I often am correct, lol.

Also, the ‘bling’ on her dress was a diamond broach. At first I thought it was a rhinestone neckline on the dress, making it too fancy for day wear.

That job was obviously “made for her”!
