The thing that really sucks about this is I am hitting high middle age and have developed some health issues. I joke with my 11 YO son that he will have to service my drool cup, but I really don’t think it will even come to that.

My 10 year term life insurance contract just expired. The premium jumped from $40 to $95 for $250K coverage. I tracked down new coverage for only $74 for $300K coverage. In the context of "income replacement" that only covers 2 years of "gross". Thus far, no health issues at age 52 (save the cancer at age 28). If family history norms are maintained, I should be healthy through age 85 and die suddenly.
