MINNEAPOLIS Less than two years after it was bought by a private equity group, the Star Tribune has filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
"We determined that the filing was necessary to reduce our operating costs, restructure our debt and create a financially viable business for the future," Publisher and Chairman Chris Harte said in a note to readers posted on the newspaper's Web site late Thursday.

My only regret is that it didn’t happen two or three years ago so they wouldn’t have used that left wing garbage to brainwash Minnesotans into Barack Obama and Al Franken. Talk about garbage, Al Franken is the consummate embodiment of that phrase.

It’s ironic that the very newspapers that have helped Obammy get elected won’t be around to report on his many future failures.
Only filed after the election so the reporters continued to report throughout the election, as it was more important to skew the election that to save the paper. Now if they are upset by the renegotiated contracts, there is no risk to the Democrat party.
